Absolutely, i agree

These 2 guys made the difference otherwise india would have been in trouble as Bangladesh is always capable of producing a stunning performance to be giant killers.

And this T-20 world cup has started with big surprises with Netherlands beating England and then West Indies beating Australia.

In fact, Australia now has to beat Sri Lanka to stay in the tournament and likewise for England to beat Pakistan, some interesting matches coming up !

India won but few questions ... Why Dhoni is promoting himself at no 3 ?? When the scorecard looks good and you have an accumulator Gambhir at the crease then why not send Yuvi or Raina .. If left hand and right hand combination is needed then Yusuf Pathan can chip in ..from 8th till 15th over they put immense pressure on India... Had Yuvi not played the cameo things would have been different ..

Dhoni did the same mistake in the IPL semis .. What a pity Yusuf Pathan got 1 ball to play. Gambhir and Dhoni played 67 balls and scored 76 which is definitely not a strike rate to be mentioned. There was only one difference between India and England innings, that is Yuvi's cameo .. Its high time for Dhoni to realize that he needs to deliver when he promotes himself in a T20 game.

While the win for India looks convincing on paper, the fact that Bangladesh came within 30 runs of the target means that if they had had 2 good overs anytime (say of 15 each) India would have lost - typical T20 scenario.
its not unlikely that teams like Australia, new Zealand etc could not have done that.
Since India is the easiest group, I feel they'll enter the quarters a little too casually.
India needs to analyse this game they won very carefully as a lot of their weaknesses were visible - slow middle overs, few fielding lapses, etc.
Recurrent experimenting with openers and batting order can ruin a game - and from the quarters you get only once chance!

Pakistan's in big trouble. Huge loss to England. They may not even make it to the second round. Honestly, they don't deserve to. They've not been playing well enough. Why is Afridi still in the team?

My thoughts exactly!
He should be thanking his lucky stars that India won, as he was repeating the same mistake of the IPL match of wasting balls without scoring.

As a team, pakistan looks like its being forced to participate, I have been a huge fan of Imran and how he built the team. The way Pakistan cricket is going they will just be a ghost of its illustrious past. There is no will to fight, and thats a pity coming from what we all hated them for (remember Miandad)........... Wrong people running PCB.

You are right. I would have it like this

1. Sehwag
2. Gambhir
3. Raina
4. Rohit
5. Yuvraj
6. Yusuf
7. Dhoni

All said & done, we do not bowl well at the beginning & at the death. If this is not corrected, even SF is not possible. OTOH, SA, NZ & WI are doing great.

What do you guys think about Irfan Pathan ?

On current form, anyone in the squad would be a better replacement. Can't bowl, don't need his batting.

Agree or disagree ?

You know my views about Irfan Pathan.

The only reason he is there because Dhoni has this strategy of getting Ishant Sharma to bowl after the 10th over or something - so he needs some one to bowl with the new ball. And Irfan's batting prowess helps him nudge ahead of the rest.

I would get in Jadeja asap in place of Pathan.
