I had found a pristine Sturmanskie in 2016 but lost the eBay bid. Never looked again, but yours is a great looking watch. :thumbs up

There are many Sturmanskies which comes up for sale now and then.
I procured all of my watches from Ebay except for one military poljot which I got it through WUS.

There are many fraken watches out there, you need to be patient and careful.

Ah, my kind of thread!

Here's my collection -

Which watch do you own?-watches1.jpeg
  1. A Casio Beside - a smart watch to wear on a Friday
  2. The proverbial jewel in this collection's crown (Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 8410 automatic). Technically belongs to a friend but has been with me for over 7 years now :D
  3. A simple Swiss collection Quartz watch from a premium watch reseller in Lucerne
  4. My only Smart watch - A Moto 360. The original strap is a classy brown leather but have changed it to an elastomer strap for running.
  5. A Police dress watch. One of the best looking of the lot - often gets mistaken for a Rado!
  6. A Tommy Hilfiger chunky steel strap watch
  7. A beatiful blue / gold combination Armani watch
  8. Tissot T Classic - I love this watchface
  9. A classic and a must have in everyone's collection. Timex Weekender. Comes with Indiglo and 3 straps!

Sorry for the average photo quality, my phone's camera lens has scratched up slightly!

I have the same Tissot! Different colour and strap though.

Always liked Indiglo, but isn't the Weekender a loud ticker? I can't stand a ticking watch and hardly wear my Swatch because of that.

It's louder than the others for sure, but not to the point of being bothersome personally!

In the meantime, my military green 7900 requires a strap + body replacement. Ordered a black replacement from eBay.

Done and dusted. :D

Got the strap shipped from a vendor based out of Israel (of all the places!). 2700 Rs inclusive of shipping charges. Landed here in 12 days. No customs duties charged.

The watch with the stock bezel. Although the bezel was in decent nick, the straps developed cracks over 7 years of usage in our shipyard.

Removed 4 screws on the sides and pried off the bezel:

Wow. That is a complete makeover. Altogether a New watch it is..
I somehow like the military green than the black.

Was the military green not available?

Have you seen this? And this video probably answers "Why G-SHOCK?" to the uninitiated! https://youtu.be/M4ypA1xAhx8

Mate I was referring to the older Rangeman GW9400 Model vis a vis Mudmaster GWG1000.

I know about this new Rangeman GPR-B1000 model. It has a lot of features in addition to older gen Rangeman like GPS Navigation, Ceramic Case Back, Bluetooth with smarphone pairing, etc. Albeit all this costs a lot of money compared to the humble previous gen Rangeman GW9400 model.

Pro-trek is available on Amazon India. Sold by cloudtail, I wouldn't doubt the authenticity of the product.

Thanks for the response Saket. Unfortunately, the same SKU is not there on Amazon and Creation watches.

Having owned only Analog Watches currently in the form of Fossil and Casio Edifice due to the notion that Digital Watches are only for Kids, i finally overcame it, got the urge to own a Casio G-Shock Digital Watch and ended up with two of them...:D
First, got a G9000 Mudman from Casio India Online Store at a 30% Discount. I was also keen on an All Black Watch with Negative Display as i feel it looks pretty cool. I was initially eyeing DW-5600BB-1DR (G363), but it has always been Out of Stock. But i had it in the back of my mind the 5600 Series looks are too plain for my liking even though it has a crazy fan following. No Offence to any owners. Next on my Wish-list was GD-100-1BDR (G310) and when Amazon came up with the Wardrobe Refresh Sale with 20% off on this Watch when bought from CloudTail and an extra 15% Cashback, i couldn't hold myself and bought this as well. An impulsive buy. Both of them are amazing but i absolutely love the All Black Stealth Look of the G310 and the Blue Backlight looks pretty cool. Attaching few Pics to cherish...:)

Latest acquisition! HMT Jubilee.
These are getting rare and this one has that beautiful sunburst silver dial + tapered dial and hands!

Is Swiss made watch superior, if yes, by what standards?

There is no universal definition to superior as such, so it can be anything you like. Of course Switzerland has had a very long history in making all kind of really nice watches. Swiss companies have been inventing lots of watch innovations, hold a large number of patents. But that doesn't mean other nation can not make a decent watch, or even some very fine watches. E.g. Seiko.

With watches, as with anything in life. Try to get what you really enjoy, irrespective of where it is from, who made it, how much it cost.

I have just ordered myself a Timex. Some people would find that remarkable out of place with my other watches. But I just like it. Its relatively cheap, so I ordered it. i will do a proper write up once I have received it.

Timex is, oh the horological blasphemy, an original USA watch company. Timex Group is head quartered in the Netherlands, but is owned by Norwegian investors. Still, I like the watch. Eat your heart out Swiss!
