I prefer watches with luminous hands and well waterproofed as I rarely take them off and they are on whether I sleep or take a bath or go swimming.

I used to be a fan of automatic mechanical watches and over the last 50+ years have bought 3 Seiko 5, then a Tissot PR100 and finally a Rolex. The watches would last a maximum of 10 years even after getting them serviced so I got tired of constantly replacing them. The last straw was the Rolex which stopped after 7 years. The diagnosis was that a lot of parts had "Worn Out" and the bill for replacement was over a lakh. I promptly sold it as-is for 10K less than I had bought it for.

Now I am on quartz watches. The first one was Casio sports watch for 1K. In three years I replaced the battery and the strap. Total cost Rs.200.

Today I got this

There is a sale on and I got 30% discount and another Rs.1000/ from Shoppers Stop. Nett damage 9.5K for a 14.5K watch.

It is pretty big and heavy watch, but I liked the idea of Solar Power and the countdown bezel which both the previous Casio and the Rolex had. Very useful for getting a rough idea of elapsed time.

Finally found some time to get all the watches together and click a photo, still missing few watches which are not with me at the moment.

I have always been a fan of affordable watches and starting collecting them few years ago.
Although Seiko Sea Urchin is my total favourite and everyday watch, apart from the bulky tommy hilfiger almost all watches are shuffled and worn regularly.

I have been eyeing a nice Seamaster since few years but do not have enough heart to take the plunge.

Saw this at the Airport. Not into G-shocks at all, but this was such a beautiful watch. Any leads on getting a good deal on the watch? MRP is 30k.

Model: GMWB5000G-2

This is the same watch I bought, but mine is in black. Brilliant buy! Casio runs a promotion once in a while, and you have to wait for it. You will get 10% off on MRP

Pardon my lack of knowledge on the subject but why is this watch so expensive for what it offers?

Wanted with belt, but not available. Changed at home with belt from another watch. Will start looking for some brown pure leather belt, till then may continue with the black belt :)

Just hope it's waterproof.
