What is the price of a Cocktail Time after the 25% discount that Ethos has quoted?

The watch in the discussion is below, not the Cocktail time. I think Doge mentioned the Cocktail time in his response to my query.
Just today I noticed that you had also responded to my original query, thank you! I had missed it somehow, apologies for that!

Hi,
While casually browsing, found this Seiko Premier watch.

Looks really nice. Are any of HMT watches self-winding? I'm looking to buy an HMT but not inclined towards hand-winding ones.

There are a few automatics such as HMT Rajat. Not too many are automatic though, most of them are manual wind movements. Check out the HMT India website, they have an automatic section with a sparse collection.

Has anyone here given up on watches recently. I have stopped using watches for the last few months as I want one less item to sterilise once I get back from work (hospital). And I am finding that I really don’t miss it that much, given that my mobile is always on hand.

How often and how exactly do you sterilize your mobile ? Especially, it is held close to your mouth and Ears - the sensitive organs to keep safe from Covid.

Atleast 3-4 times a day. Alcohol based hand sanitizer is now available everywhere inside any hospital.

Nope - don't think I can do that. Wearing a watch is like a second skin for me. Even at home I always have my trusty G Shock 5600 on all the time, solely except when I am turning in for the night.

So no, I will definitely not give up wearing a watch, Covid or no. It is one of the few pleasures of life for me as a watch enthusiast :)

The Longines DolceVita Heritage L5.669.6.79.2 manual movement 18k gold Limited Edition one of 600 pieces, replicating the original 1926 model has been added to my collection.

I was shopping for a tank watch and eyeing on a Cartier vs. JLC reverso duo but Longines won my heart with the simple Arabic font and seconds sub register.

Though it is a unisex watch and the face is bit smaller than my other watches I feel this watch still looks good on my wrist, How many of you like this beautiful face?

Nice watch- looks quite well worn with lot of scratches and patina. Fairly obvious Tank/Reverso homage but I'm sure provides better value than Cartier or JLC.

In this segment, the Reverso in midnight blue dial is something else though. One of my dream dress watches.

In an era where YouTube has become a a hub of censorship, dumb entertainment and other assorted nonsense, I found a very heartwarming concept of videos that are few but of high quality, watch restoration. Love the videos without the narration more, because I'm kind of knowledgeable in watch assembly and can see where the bridges and screws and springs connect in giving life to the watch.

Love this Omega, their movements today look like garbage (co-axial whatever) compared to the vintage :

How about a Jaeger-LeCoultre? Their movement seems pretty similar to what they do today, albeit with lesser embellishments like the edge grooving, perlarge, cotes de Geneve and heat blued cobalt screws :

And finally, an Oris dress watch, done very, very well, albeit with a 482 :

My collection of HMT Pilots. I also have the recent Grey one.

Does any of our resident watch enthusiasts on the forum own the Tudor Black Bay 58 (or any other modern Tudor watch)? The BB58 is one of my grail watches but unfortunately, the brand does not have a retailer in India. I have been considering purchasing the watch from the USA, and have been corresponding with a couple of big name retailers there on this.

Does anyone have experience with Tudor watches in India and where they can be independently serviced by a competent watch-maker (specifically in Bangalore)?

Hey Arindam! What would you like to know? I've had my BB58 on a leather deployant since April 2019 and I'm wearing it as I type this. Zero regrets! (current market appreciation notwithstanding)

Hi Arindam, I'm not a BB58 fan (yes, we exist!), but in case you're thinking of importing a watch of this value by courier, be mentally prepared for atrocious duties. Would suggest someone coming in to India carries it. I greatly suffered on a $1100 purchase which almost doubled by time customs were done with it.

That said, I have a couple of Tudor's posh relatives, Rolexes, in the family (Yatchmaster + Ladies Oyster) and the service from Rolex India has been impeccable - had a crystal replacement done during the Pandemic and they were absolutely professional.

Agree. Just not worth importing BB58 or for that matter, any other watch. I once redeemed my Etihad points for Casio's radio watch. While I got the price off the watch, I had to pay 11K as import duty at the post office. Overall, good value for 11K but I can only imagine what would be it like importing a pricier watch.

I have looked up Tudor's so many times during my UK visits but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I love the S&G version where the gold is minimal and it looks really nice (rather than flashy).

Another great VFM currently is the Hydroconquest series from Longines. The matte green dial version is fab.
