Neither of these watches are in the halo league of super luxury watches that retain value or appreciate.

I would suggest buy the watch that appeals to you and don’t think too much about the drop in value. You’re buying it to wear and neither is going to be an investment per se from a resale perspective.

I picked this from Amazon, I believe someone suggested it in this thread itself. The quality is good and does the job.

I use this one which I purchased from Modern Quests. I’m quite happy with the quality. I like that it has a glass top. It’s also modular so you can stack them up with anything else you have. Like mine sits on top of a case for sunglasses.

There is an image of the box too with my watches and some straps in it, in the linked post below.

Re: Which watch do you own?

I guess Omega is increasing the price of watches or already increased by 6%. The Omega website list my watch model at 40k more than what I bought 2 weeks back. However retailers like Ethos, Zimson etc. are still showing the old price. 2 weeks back the MRP in Omega website and retailers were all same.

You're right - they have increased the prices - this was expected though.

Great, thanks - I've been eyeing this one as well and found it via searches too. Thanks for the recommendation.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Hi all, just wanted to check, how often do you manually wind your automatic watches?

I got my first automatic, wear it every 2 or 3 days and I realise that power reserve has gone down. I need to adjust date & time every now and then, something I need to get used to. Is it better for the watch to wind it every day even if you aren't wearing it?

They can be wound up once every day, no issues. Simply wearing it for several hours when you are at home will also be sufficient.

I've been wearing my Longines Conquest every day for over a year. It has excellent accuracy for a mechanical watch (+1 second per day) and has served me well.

Welcome to the world of automatic mechanical watches - it does take some adjustment when you switch for the first time from digital/quartz watches - what you're experiencing is perfectly normal!

For me it's become a ritual to check my automatic mechanical watches once every 2 days - if I see any of them stop, I wind them or let them rest if I don't want to wear them in the next few days.

Each automatic mechanical watch has its own power reserve hour however most would last a minimum of 40-48 hours if you've worn the watch for let's say one full day. Do check what's yours.

It's also OK to let these watches stop running once in a while - end of the day it's a mechanical watch - winding them is also fine.

Recently gifted someone a Watch Box from the below brand. Quality seemed good though a bit on the pricey side. I plan to buy 1 maybe next year.

HMT Rajat on a Khisa Single pass leather strap. Totally adds character to the watch. Loving it!

Re: Which watch do you own?

I recently added 2 Seiko's in my collection. A friend was visiting Hong Kong and I jumped on the opportunity and requested him to get these for me. Got around 28%-30% discount from India MRP.

I'm looking at the Luminor 40mm, the discount I was offered in Chennai was 22% at Ethos. However have told a friend to check prices in dubai as suggested by him. Will decide accordingly.
