Have been noticing a mismatch on the TBHP Home page on the 5 top rolling posts.

The thumbnail and the story do not match. I had earlier seen this when the Audi A3 thumbnail was getting shown and the Tag under talked about a travelogue.

Yes, we were facing an intermittent caching issue there - and have been trying to prevent it.

It was at about 2:30 PM today

The Chrome text rendering issue is really annoying, works fine in IE though, but I detest IE.

What other effects (if any) would disabling DirectWrite cause?

Today they have released Chrome 37 in the main channel - so it is now also on my laptop. And I have DirectWrite disabled on both the computers (the ones with Chrome Production and Chrome Beta).

In the New Topics page, can we have a list which is not limited to the time since last login.
Sometimes we login for a quick search or to reply to a quoted post, without looking into other sections.
Some interesting new threads may be missed this way. If a list of new threads was available it would be easier i guess

The Search Feature needs improvement.
When I searched "Printers", it showed me only one result About Printers whereas when I searched "Printer", it showed me multiple results excluding About Printer thread.

Isn't that the expected behavior in any search? Searching for a term would only return the content that has the exact match, not partial match.

Expecting a search for "printer" to return results containing the "printers" word is just the same as a search for "ear" returning results containing "search" word. The latter is clearly an incorrect search result and the reason why most of the simple search algorithms do not return partial match.

For more complicated search, there is always Google site search.

Hi,

I am not able to Rate a thread for quite some time now. The problem cropped up about a month ago. I thought it would be because of the connection (No IT Knowledge). It gives out an Error message whenever I try do the same. Use Firefox 32.0. Attaching a screenshot of the Error.

I'm guessing this is your office network? From what I've seen, unfortunately thread rating doesn't seem to work perfectly when its coming via certain types of proxies.

Yup. It is my office network. And they use proxy for internet connection. Thanks for clarification. Will check up at home as well.

The "You've Been Quoted" message arrives in my inbox as soon as someone submits a post that quotes one of mine. This generally works, but is a false alarm when the person quoting me is being moderated (new member, for example). Can we change the rule for delivering the private message to be Post Approval rather than Post Submission?

Unfortunately we cant bookmark that link. Any other pointers.
