My all time JS song is "Baat Niklegi Tho Phir Door Thalak Jayege", a few lines from that song, maybe a bit incorrect :-

Baat Niklege to phir door talak jayege
Log bewaja udhasi ka sabab poochenge
yeh bhi poochenge ki, tum itni pareshaan kyon hoon
Ungliyan Uthange Sukhe Hua Ballo ki taraf
Ek Nazar Deekenge, Guzre Hue Saalo ki taraf
Chudiyoon Par bhi koi taanz kiye jayengeee
Kaapthe Haatho se bhi Fikare Kase Jayenge
Wah Wah, i am yet to come across any song of JS to beat the above
It's my all time fav!!

Off Topic-@ are you attending the concert?

Tickets sold out on book my show!!

Har wafa ek julm ho goya..
Aadmi yun na admi se mile

long time fan - have all his albums on cassettes. One of my favs (you guys covered most others) - bahut diNoN ki baat hai - its a beautiful nazm.

Have seen him live thrice and man does he read the audience! All the jokes and impromptu jugalbandis with his group are amazing. He is a class apart when it comes to performing.

Listened to this yesterday:

"sunte hain ki mil jaati hai har cheez dua se..
ik roz tumhe maang ke dekhenge khuda se"

Lots of ashiqs here.. LOL :-)

Nope, i had some prior engagements and couldnt go for the show. As i write this post, JS must be weaving his magic in Chowmallah Palace

Another favorite of mine is the song sung by him and his wife Chitra Singh :

Raat Bhi Neendh Bhi Kahani Bhi

@ panky - very nice topic buddy.

Most of the songs which he sings are of very deep thoughts.
I'm a fan of him & listen to his songs almost daily.

His album with Gulzar - 'MARASIM' is a must for all the fans.
Do check it out, you'll love his singing even more!!

IMO, Jagjit Singh is one of the greatest ghazal singers in the world.

Not a die hard fan,but I do listen to and relate to a lot of his ghazals with events in life. Right now playing 'Koun kehta hai mohabbat ki zubaan hoti hain.........yeh woh haqeeqat hai jo nigahon se bayan hoti hain.............

Even attended his concerts,he is one of the best Ghazhal singers.

1> Koi mausom.
2> All the Ghazals of Someone somewhere are very good .
3> Baat nikalegi to..
4> Hum to yuh apani jindagi se mile
5> Abe mein ration ki..

The list will go on and on.

Hey I listen to Jagjit Singh a lot. I have a CD full of his mp3s which I play when alone as most of the people travelling with me in my car (friends, relatives, family members) don't appreciate it.
I do like to listen to him in the evenings when I am driving home and the sun is setting on the highway and a cool breeze is blowing.

Two of my most favorite albums
1. Mirza Ghalib - there was a serial on DD long time back and those ghazals and nazms are put on two cd pack. Each word and each she'r in that ghazal is so deep in meaning.
2. Marasim with Gulzaar
