Rest in peace

Nice guy without much of controversy.

A couple of songs in his memory from Bandhana and Hombisilu

While Rajkumar was the perennial number one star, Vishnu was the perennial number two star of Kannada film industry. Now, both have been extinguished within 2006-2009.

Unlike Rajkumar, Vishnu excelled in both action and emotional roles.

Some of my favourites: Muttina Hara, Bandhana, Nee Bareda Kadambari & Suprabhata. (Strangely, 3 of them are with Suhasini)

Extremely Sad

It's very sad and shocking , grew up watching his movies in school and college days. Nagara Havu, Bhoothayyana Maga Ayyu, Suprabhata, Bandhana to name a few. May his soul rest in peace.

May his soul rest in peace.

Heard of some unrest in Jayanagar and MG Road side, is it true or just rumors?

RIP Sahasa Simha Vishnuvardhan!

Second tragedy for Kannada Cinema within a week following after noted singer and music director C.Ashwath passed away.

I just hope the fans exercise restraint. Already the BMTC services have been suspended.

The Chief Minister has appealed for peace, has declared a holiday for schools and colleges as a mark of respect and to also prevent children being put to hardship.

Cheers,

Jay

Rest in peace.
He was one no controversy actor.
I have heard that in real life too he is a very humble and down to earth kinda person.

Some stone pelting and closing of shops occurred on Magadi Road, nothing much elsewhere. Jayanagar and adjoining areas will have a lot of traffic curbs until evening.

RIP Vishnu. Always a sad loss when an artist passes away.

Some of my colleagues who have just now come in said its as if a bandh has been called.

Very sad to hear the news. Those golden years of kannada film has come to an end. After loosing Raj, loosing vishnu is like loosing both the eyes of kannada movie.

Still remember his splendid performance of NagaraHavu till the super hit movie Apthamithra.

Shocking !! At 59 he was so young. He's the guy I admired most in Kannada films. Simply rocked in Suprabhata.

Saw him once in the 90s in one of the 5-stars. Still remember he had a Nissan Sunny.

Most of Kannada folks in 70s and 80s grew up watching his movies.
One of the finest kannada actors, most talented and popular after Dr. Rajkumar
Feeling very sad!
His memory shall remain forever!
RIP Guru...

Can someone confirm whether there is a bandh today or not and also which areas are affected by traffic restrictions? I was planning to go to Chikpet to pick up something, but I guess I should drop the plan for today.

While leaving to office, I came across news channels flashing news something similar to "self-imposed bandh by bangaloreans". I observed few roads had less traffic than usual.

Can somebody confirm if its complete bandh?

Better to avoid majestic surrounding areas, which is the hub of kannada film industry, i dont think any shop will be open there. And expect strone thowing and all during procession in evening, so better not to take any four wheelers in bangalore today.

I have seen most of his old movies like Naagarahaavu, Kalla-kulla, Shubhmangala, Sahodarara savaal, Boothaiyyana maga Aiiyu, etc, which are like shining stars in Kannada cinema. He and Manjula it was that made the most movies, they were like made for each other. And Dwarakeesh was his comedy partner like how Narasimharaju was for Raj.

Ahh, those days of hero worship and queuing for the first show first day and huge cutouts of the star- all no more, what a pity.
