Just now got a message that my passport has been printed and I'll get an update once its dispatched.

My appointment at PSK was on 24-Jan-14.

I had a general query, since i have never used the Tatkaal facility when applying for a passport renewal.

When submitting a passport renewal request using the Tatkaal facility for Bangalore PSK, is the difference from the standard process only in terms of the higher service charge, or any other supporting documents required?

Additional documents are required for Tatkaal service, apart for higher service fee.Please refer to the below mentioned link for complete details.

Lesson learnt, if renewing your passport and you have done changes example marital status please do carry your marriage certificate in original and photocopy.
I forgot to and now the problem is i will have to travel again from Mumbai to Delhi reopen my file and start the processing.

Now this is where i got confused, before i posted my query here.
I selected the Tatkaal scheme for reissue of passport and other particulars as applicable during reissue, and no where does it ask for any affidavits as mentioned in the link given by Waseem above!

Need your help in a couple of questions.

Having applied for re-issue for my wife, successfully uploaded the e-form.

1. Do we need to upload the 'signed" scanned documents ?
2. Can I accompany my wife inside PSK ? Reason for asking this is the printed receipt has the following statement

And how much buffer time should we keep before the appointment time at PSK ?

Now the only change is the address for re-issue due to expiry of the passport. Will there be any police verification for the same ?

1. No need to upload scanned documents. Just carry a proof of your new address.

2. You cannot accompany her inside PSK. Only in cases of minors/senior citizens, one escort is allowed inside.

3. The reporting time should be printed in your appointment form, usually it's 15 minutes prior to your appointment slot. The entire process took about 2 hours for me.

4. Yes, police verification will happen in case of change of address.

I am applying for my son's(minor) passport reissue, and didnt come across any affidavits to be submitted.

''Tatkaal Appointments : With effect from 20th September 2013, applicants applying under ‘Tatkaal’ category will berequired to book ‘Tatkaal Appointments’ and visit the PSK at the given reporting time. ‘Tatkaal Appointments’ will be released 2 days prior to the date of service. For example, for date of service 20th September,Tatkaal appointments will be released on 18th September at 6:30 PM.Once the applicant arrives at PSK, the necessary documents desired for Tatkaal services and Verification Certificate will be verified by Government official and thereafter Tatkaal token will be issued, if documents are in order''

We just noticed that my wife's passport has a missing alphabet in her name as compared to her graduation certificate records . The earlier passport was based on school documents where the mistake wasnt noticed .

Her passport is due for renewal , any tips on how to get this name correction done?

December I decided to get my wife's passport corrected and remade ( hers was before marriage with her maiden name ), 8 years down the line she never travelled abroad and in the mean while we had 2 kids - aged 5 and 1 ). So now family vacations abroad were long due and it was high time I got this out of the way.

I had no marriage certificate also.

My first phonecall was to an agent who helps you with all this and gets you an appointment at PSK Ghaziabad. Getting 3 together at the same time / day is a pain and since I was in no hurry I said no problem. We got a date after 2 months on Feb 18th for all 3 at 9:30 AM.

I got a marriage cert made in 200 rupees. All original documents + birth certificates + pass books etc etc and made a bunch and at 9:30 presented ourselves in the PSK. A total of 3 sections - A/B/C - and all 3 together so a total of 9 stops with a lot of documents in arm and we were out by 10 : 45. A record time.

In 2 weeks the Police Verification done by a young Cop from the local Station. And today LIU investigator came.

But these were fresh passports hence the enquiry otherwise I am told it needs no enquiry also.

Now I will wait for the passports to arrive ( fingers crossed soon )

Can my passport with the updated address serve as a address proof ?

Or do I need to submit by 1 year telephone biils, and marriage certificate.

My name is already endorsed in her old passport.

Thought uploading of scanned documents is required, as per the instructions in the passport website.

They are suppose to accept spouse spouse passport as address proof, but they dont. Please ask her to carry Telephone Bills or Bank Statements of last one year+passbook along with your PP.

My passport will expire in ~7 months from now. I am planning to re-new the passport. My current passport was issued with my permanent address in Kerala.

I currently work in Chennai and stay in a PG. I do NOT have a gas connection or a BSNL landline. Neither have I got a passbook from the employer.

I am inclined to applying thru the Cochin office itself, though it requires some extra travel; I doubt I have a choice. What should I do in this case?

I have an SBI Passbook with picture on it (and permanent address of mine (Kerala)) and also transactions for atleast 6 months in the last 1 year .

1. What is the time taken for a normal re-issue application Vs Tatkal application?

2. For re-issue of the passport, do I need to have police verification done?

Please advice.
