Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

I rely on FM Radio to keep me company during my daily travel to and from Office. I enjoyed listening to Radio City during my stay in Bangalore. Liked the choice of topics and music brought out by their RJ's. I still miss those days.

Currently in Hyderabad, there is one program that i like very much on Red 93.5 FM by one of the popular RJ's from 5-8 PM.

Listener's coerce the RJ to recite poems on his/her name. Good Music and Good Sense of Humor keeps me tuned to that channel.

Want to hear from fellow BHP-ians on what their choice's are.

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

In the mornings its usually 98.3 Radio Mirchi for the devotional stuff. While driving back home in the evening its a mix n match. Most of the times its 93.5 Red FM and esp the program by RJ Malishka or else its 94.3 Radio City. If nothing interests then its back to good old CD's.

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

Don't have any favourite really, just keep changing channels as per songs on offer.

But i wish that there was some kind of VH1 on FM as well.

It would be even better if we could listen to internet radio stations in the car, which at present is difficult due to slow network.

I've preset only 2 channels and 99% of time listen to only these, AIR 106.4 MHz and Radio Mirchi 98.3 MHz. The remaining 1% music CD.

94.3 for me at Banaglore. The continuous yapping of the RJ's ( wonder how they do this so effectively, must need great skills for sure ) and the continuous flow of hindi songs - mix of old and new.

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

AIR 107.1 (Bombay), at the times I commute, they have some good English music playing, and the RJ's are less jarring compared to the other stations..... The pick of the lot is Fali Singara.

If not 107.1, then surfing the stations or back to the CD's

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

Personal CDs for me.
FM plays too "radio friendly" music for my liking - interlaced with excessive RJ blabberings

Though at night 94.3 @ Pune plays some eclectic music (but mostly it is pop)

AIR FM Gold - I listen to it only while commuting.

I hate all Radio Jockeys. Someone should tell them that their job is to play songs & not to talk & give them opinions on everything under the earth.

The ideal radio channel would be one which plays songs & in between songs there would be no talking, except for mentioning the singer's name etc.

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

Its mainly CDs and USB for me in the car. If i have to listen to FM it is only AIR FM.

Rest all the FM channel RJs really get on my nerves with their non stop nonsense talk. I think the other FM channels play good music only between 9 to 11 PM - Purani Jeans etc.

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

Out here in Hyderabad, whenever I switch to FM irrespective of channel. It's always Telugu blaring out at me and not to mention the unneccessary talking in between.

They speak one word in telugu, next word in hindi and followed by English. It's decimating each language completely. Irritating is a mild word when you hear these radio jockeys who think they are "cool"

In my entire life, I may have listened to FM for 30-45 minutes in total.

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

Oye! 104.8 FM (Kolkata) - "Sabse Filmi"

Programmes : "Oye Kolkata!" in the morning and "Time-out" while on my way back.

Fortunately, both the programmes have male RJs, so the chatter/blabber part is, well, that little bit less. Frequent splashes of humor by"Golmaal" helps in easing out the frustrations of going through the monotony of blasphemous Kolkata traffic. Intermittent updates on traffic situations have helped me a few times as well.

Frankly, even when i switch to USB/Aux/CD, things does not change that much for me, as my co-pilot(wifey) would put any RJ to shame.

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

I was one own-playlist guy too, and also there was a dearth of english language stations, or programming during morning hours.but I have been listening to hit95 for the past 3 years, from day one, and am a HUGE fan.not just the musi, but the RJs, as well as the freebies i have won there...

Re: Your Favourite FM Station/Program while driving

I do not understand most of the Telugu songs blaring out of the radio these days, so I try to catch Hindi songs on the radio whenever I can.

After much twiddling and tuning, I've realized that most Hindi programming on FM radio in Hyderabad can be found as follows:
AIR Rainbow FM (9am - 10am)
AIR (12pm - 2pm)
AIR Rainbow FM (5pm - 6pm)
Red FM (6pm - 7pm)
AIR (7pm - 8pm)
Mix of Big FM and Red Fm (8pm-10pm)
AIR (10pm and later)
