Ofcourse, i guess that just happens with all the cars that end up like this. So better keep both eyes open while buying a 2nd hand car

There is more money in stripping down the car and selling its parts than there would be in fixing it up and selling it. Don't count on that car being repaired.

It indeed was a bad crash!!!!!! But I feel it is nothing but an outcome of irresponsible driving. Even we had a Qualis which used for tourist purpose(in Mangalore). It met with an accident last year (just 4 months after we purchased it). Looking at the condition of the car we din't feel like restoring it. The insurance rule says that if the repair cost of the car exceeds 75% of the car value then it is declared as total loss. So we managed to get the estimated repair cost to slightly more than 75% of the car value(dealer happened to have good relations with my dad). We recieved an insurance amount of close to 90% of the car value( Minus all the money we spent on accesories). And again insuring your accesories is optional(I feel) which generally people don't go for. The scrapped car is handed over to insurance company in as in where condition. They in turn auction the car in open market. The Qualis which we claimed to be in total loss condition is up an running somewhere in Bangalore

I am sure it will get repaired and sold.

I know someone who has (had) a honda city (2nd gen) , met with an accident at Panvel, some crazy truck driver was taking a U turn across the road from the left. Anyways car completely gone except the interior was safe. The insurance company told him that some local garage bought it and will get the car redone and sell it in the second hand market

Yes you should be careful while buying second hand cars

After seeing this. I'm happy i bought an Octi. With an amazing build quality like this, it gives a great peace of mind to the owners.
Cheers to Skoda
