again +1 to shell.I get 4/5 kms extra if it is normal shell petrol compared to other pertol bunks(this is for bikes) and i USED TO GET 2kms extra for my late car(Matiz). The petrol bunk near HSR police station is also good.I get good milage from here also

I also feel the HSR police station Petrol bunk is good. I get my fuel from there when I know that there would be no Shell en route to my destination.

Well unfortunately these guys are duping the people for so long! and wont be punished for this act!

I ONLY fill at Shell and will continue to do so:)

Folks,

Did you watch the TV9 scoop on how petrol pump attendants cheating the public caught red handed in several petrol pumps. The TV9 crew went in a customized bike which had a separate can so that the fuel directly went into this can from the fuel tank. This can was covered in black polythene cover and placed on the right side of the bike on a small stand. Very ingenious indeed.:D

Below are the list of fuel pumps which had a big disparity in the amount of fuel pumped.

1, Samiyulla HP pump- Chamarajpet-Mysore road. This Pump got the first place . They filled half a litre of petrol for 300Rs. The attendants got a sound thrashing from the public right there once they were exposed

2. phoenix petrol pump Oakalipuram
3. Bharati service station- Raj Bhavan Road
4. jawahar service station- Hudson circle
5. SMK petrol pump - RT nagar
6. Talam service station - mysore road
7 . Padma service station- sarjapur road
8. Anekar -Magadi road
9. Uday filling station- Binny mill
10 laxmi service station- padarayanpuram

The above stations duped to the tune of .5 ltrs to 1.5 litres when asked to fill 3 litres.

Another petrol pump to be added to black list - [b]Indian Oil Pump near Richmond road[\B] (Just next to the Richmond road - Hosur road junction). Yesterday I went and asked them to fill for Rs.500/- in my bike. I was seeing the fellow before me filled for exactly Rs.120/-. I am extremely cautious nowadays at petrol pumps. Now when it was my turn, he entered 500 for automatic cutoff and put the nozzle inside and immediately the power goes off. Then he went and did something and power came back. Then the previous 120 was still shown in the meter. He again reset to 0 and promptly filled for 380 rs. Now I was 100% sure that they are trying to cheat and I protested. He immediately filled remaining 120 without much fuss and without even looking back at my face he started attending others.

I went to the Indian oil pump in Lingarajapuram. This pump is on the left hand side if you are driving towards the flyover on hennur main road from outer ring road, after the signal for Kamanahalli.

I asked them to fill 300 Rs. worth of diesel. They filled 3 ltrs, but swiped the card for 300 Rs. The meter showed around Rs. 132.

I thought it might be a mistake and asked to fill the remaining. The attendant started filling without resetting the meter. So I thought he would fill till Rs. 300.

He stopped at Rs. 172 ish.

When confronted, he started arguing, saying he did reset the meter.

I raised my voice, and finally he filled diesel worth Rs. 300.

Avoid this pump or be very careful.

I usually fill in at the IOC pump near HSR Sector 2 for my two wheeler . The attendant there always brings to my attention the meter reading before he starts filling.

This week, for some reason, it was closed on Monday morning so I filled up at the new HP bunk near HSR BDA. I noticed that my mileage has gone down noticeably. Will try out this bunk once again to see if they are upto something.

I never had any issues with the following pumps.

1. HP on outer ring road at J.P. Nagar near Dalmiya.
2. IOC at Banshankari
3. BP at BTM

But my car feels happy only with IOC diesel, its super smooth regardless of the pump.

While filling petrol the other person who collects cash tries to distract by striking a conversation or asking for cash but i just don't care and don't remove my eyes off the meter.I believe, that is in itself very intimidating and humiliating for a person because he is asking something and you are not even responding to or acknowledging his presence. After you are filled, shut your lid and move forward then coolly ask him "What ?"That will leave him stunned for a while .:uncontrol

@Suman, my pref's there - 2 & 1. Not so happy with 3 there.
Also try the IOC near BTM watertank. It's a COCO.

If your truck's happiest with IOC, I'm not surprised. I dont know what's with IOC, but somehow this feels best for our trucks - Tata or Mahindra.

Beware of the Petrol bunk near tin factory near KR puram Bangalore, especially after 8pm.

Hey, do you have a specific incident where you or someone you know was cheated by that petrol bunk?

I would recommend the Shell on OMR. I myself always fill it up from there if I am in the vicinity. With Shell, I am sure of both - quality and quantity.

I've had similar experiences while filling fuel the latest is while filling at IOC bunk at Bilekahalli on Bannerghatta Road. As i opened the fuel lid of my bike and asked the attender to put petrol for 100 bucks the cash collector comes along and starts a conversation, i got distracted for a second and then i suddenly looked at the meter and it read 28 rupees but fortunately he dint start the dispenser yet. I told the attender to reset but the cash collector pal seemed very persistent on starting a conversation with me i never looked at him and told him sternly that we'll talk later. He was also saying that the attender was a new guy and dint remember to forget the meter etc.

I've experienced the similar strike up a conversation tactic at the BP petrol pump on Bannerghatta opp to IBM and also at the IOC pump opp to Sagar Automobiles on BG Rd. But only once did they fool me and that was when i was new to Banglore.

Last night, I was at this petrol bunk opp the IBM office in Bannerghetta Road.
The 1 of the 3 attendants starts to fill up after i ask him to do so for 1500Rs. Then another attendant comes and asks me various questions like if i will be paying by card or cash. I ignore him. Within next 5 seconds, another attendant lingering nearby comes upto me with his hand stretched out as if asking me to payup right now. I ignore him and once the fill-up is done, I pay by cash and I roll out of the petrol bunk. I look at the fuel gauge and I see that it is not showing within the range as it normally should.i.e 3 to 4 spokes above Half tank. I went for the fill-up with about 6 litres to spare.

I think it is high time this Petrol Bunk is reported to the proper authorities. On speaking to my neighbour who happens to work in that same IBM office opp this bunk, he tells me although he has been working in that location for about 3 years, he has never tanked up at that bunk since he experienced a similar scenario with them 2 years back.

There is a good petrol station near Benison Super Market near Hulimavu Gate after Arekere signal and I always tank up there. No cheating of any sort and the place seems to be always crowded with people coming in to fill up. I think that itself speaks for their honesty.

Any idea on how to expose these frauds opp to the IBM Office in BG Road near the Sagar Appollo Hospital?

If you are refering to the BP bunk - this used to be good a few years back when it was a COCO. Not so for a long time now.

Log a Complaint against them. You will have to provide your details and trust me it works, although they might take some time to get back to you.

Hey all TBHPians in bangalore. please avoid the DG petrol pump in Bsk( indian oil bunk). I and a couple of friends have found this on many occasions that your car will return a FE of atleast 1kmpl less then what it used to give you. The bunk I will suggest in south bangalore is HP on outer Ring road in Jp nagar and BP which is just opposite Lal bagh west gate. Never faced any trouble from both these bunks in last 6 years.

^^ Drmohitg: Been mentioned before, same data. I stay near DG and visited that bunk just once. Most of the time for petrol it was at the same bunk you mentioned, the HP bunk. Good service, no hanky panky and good fuel.

For me, it is for the last 4 years. :)
