There are 2 pumps. One on the right side on your way to the airport from Hebbal. Its about 4 kms from the bottom of the Hebbal flyover(Esteem mall) on the Airport/Yelahanka road.
There is another one on the other way. From Hebbal, towards Mekhri circle, just before HMT bhavan, Adyar Ananda Bhavan etc., the pump is on the left. I go to the latter. No issues till date, impeccable service, quality and quantity. Its worth it.

I didnt actually know that it had become Indian Oil from the earlier IBP. With IBP, it was a company owned/ operated bunk.

My experience (repeated twice, so certainly not a one-off):

I say top up and the guy starts filling. Around the Rs 200 mark, he claims that the pump tripped and asks me to note down the 200. (For some reason, the Lts column was blank). Then he 'reset' and filled it again for a total of about 38 lts. Luckily, I have a record of all my fuellings and I always top up.

So, I realised that they claimed to have filled in 38 lts when the vehicle (Innova) had only done about 300 km. Went out & cribbed to the supervisor who didnt blink an eyelid. He just handed back the 200.

Watch out for this newish scam, folks!

This is quite common in any petrol bunk (except Shell, where I have not faced it yet) in Bangalore.

You will also see a few things:

While one guy will ask you how much to fill for from the left / right side, there would be one person who will walk up on the opposite side and keep you busy with questions:

- do you want a bill?
- will you pay by card / cash?
- do you want to check air?
- do you want to buy something?
- etc etc

What you can do from next time, and I have started doing this:

- park the car at the bunk
- switch off car and remove the lid
- ignore all the questions till I actually get off and go and stand by the guy who has to fill
- then tell him, I want to fill for XXXX and I am paying by card / cash
- keep an eye open and keep looking at the meter

Started doing this after I got cheated twice by the 200 trip!

The twist is that this scam kicks in AFTER the pump starts.

After you carefully ensure zero and he starts filling and you ensure that you are not distracted, suddenly the pump just stops dead. The Rs column shows the amount but the Lts column is blank. No petrol comes out of the spout. (at least the way he showed it!)

He then does something to start the pump again, which shows zeros in both Rs & Lts. So, it is a very believable scam if you are not very sure about how empty your tank is.

Hence the warning about a newish scam.

Recent incident happened to me last Saturday.

Yes. Add the petrol bunk in from of the Reogional passport office in Koramangala, bangy also to this list.

The person will see that he either distracts you or covers your vision to the meter. I was literally pushing the other guy to see the meter and he realized that no more game is possible.

Over to that, when I gave him 500rs, to fill for 300rs and key for the petrol to be filled, he gave back the key and silently went. I need to run to him to get back my balance. When asked he calmly says sorry sir, I thought I gave back :Frustrati

Hi, Can anyone give me feedback about the IOC pump near ICICI bank in Sarjapur Outer Ring Road. It is just ahead of Symphony office. I filled twice from them. Actually that is the only one near our house. So had to go there. Want to get some feedback about it.

That is the one I have had problems with. I dont think it is COCO; used to be when it was IBP.

earlier today, went to fill fuel at a HP bunk, just to be warned by a gentleman ahead of me who was re-fuelling his ANHC, that the hose was leaking - and it indeed was !
The bunk staff were least bothered !

I had faced similar issue in Indian Oil petrol bunk, near Vijaya Enclave apartment, Bangalore.

I took my bike there and asked for 200Rs petrol, I was looking at the meter with 200Rs cash in my hand, around 120Rs petrol was filled, then from the other side the cashier came and asked if I need a bill. By the time I said no to him and turned back, the meter was reset to zero.

I think they do it purposely and look's like it is very much planned.

My advice to all is, Never get diverted until the expected amount of petrol is showing in the meter. Later ask for a bill “New pump machines prints the bill, like the shell petrol bunks.”

HP,BP,Indian oil(dunno about Shell), all fall under the same category-crooks. They cheat you even if have your eyes open. After being cheated twice, I suspect every bunk of cheating. At HP petrol bunk near Ramiah hospital signal, the meter changes to Rs 7/- from Rs 0/- within a second:Shockked:, I have experienced this and others too have told me about this. The HP outlet near Ramiah Management College are quite good, been filling from them and am getting a consistent mileage.
