@Suman, my pref's there - 2 & 1. Not so happy with 3 there.
Also try the IOC near BTM watertank. It's a COCO.
If your truck's happiest with IOC, I'm not surprised. I dont know what's with IOC, but somehow this feels best for our trucks - Tata or Mahindra. |
Tried the IOC in BTM. Seems to be good.
Of late I am using System D with IOC and the result is surprisingly great. The engine is smooth and the sound is also less. I think the pickup has also increased.
Mine is the HP bunk on Banaswady road opposite to the fire station. It seems to be good so far. Alternative is the BP one in KasturiNagar. Btw, I stay in Ramamurthy Nagar.
Any good bunks on Hosur road? I stay near to Electronic city and would need to figure out a place to refuel.
I know there is a shell near to Sasken but I'm also looking for a IOC or a BP bunk.Any pointers?
Matts Fuel Bunk on the whitefield road near to Cosmos Mall is really good. I have been fueling there since it was opened some couple of years back and every time i fill my car for 1000 bucks the fuel gauge always is 2 stops higher than half which never happens with other bunks.
The one to avoid definitely will the HP one on airport road & next to St. Johns hospital, always used to get low FE on my bike.

There is a decent BP bunk inside electronics city (next to HCL). :thumbs up

I also fill-up in HP,Banaswadi regularly for the past 2 years and find it good. I had been to BP, Kasturinagar also a few times and that's even better.
BTW, two days back, I drove the Zen to
IOC, Kanakapura road. (Near METRO). Asked them for a tank-full and they filled-up 35.86 litres. But the tank capacity of Zen is only 35litres . And already there must have been atleast 3-4 litres in the car.
My trusted pumps are HP and IOC at Marathalli. When out of B'lore, all the time on IOC and mainly look for COCO pumps for refuels.
Cheers !!!
I have been cheated once or twice, so this is what I do for refuelling:
1. Fill petrol generally during early morning or at night when the crowd is less. (Less crowd, less distractions).
2. Fill petrol generally from the same bunk, so you'll be familiar with some staff.
3. Decide the quantity/amount of fuel before you reach the bunk, and keep the exact money/card in your pocket. That way you would never need to take out your purse and start counting money after refuelling.
4. Get out of the car, lock all doors/windows, and then open the fuel lid.
Hold on to the fuel cap with your hand. Only after this, answer to questions like "How many liters, How much rupees, Cash or card". If questions come earlier, politely say "Let me check my purse first".
5. If you have requested for a preset quantity of fuel, check whether the present amount/quantity has been correctly entered in the meter. Check whether the 'Liter/Rupees' meter is reset to zero, when the attendant lifts of the fuel dispenser tube. Open the fuel cap only after you find the meter to be ok.
6. Never take your eyes off the meter, right from zero to the desired quantity.
7. If possible, pay after the refuelling. If you pay before refuelling, make sure you open the fuel lid and cap only after verifying point number 5 above.

Thats a good pump. Decent staff. Been filling there for years now. Of course, it is a HP pump, not BP.

@ch.nathan, you would have more than 3-4 liters in the tank .. else your engine would have been sputtering (taking in air, as they call it).
The only okay-ish bunk on Kanakapura road is the IOC near the NICE road junction. No other bunk in that area is good.

I did that last night as I stay pretty near to E City.
The staff was courteous and I made sure I was staring at the dispensing unit from the moment I got down.
Didnt sense anything fishy.
I'd stick to this one in future too :thumbs up
I totally agree with turbo_freak's observation. The HP bunk(Kaveri - if memory serves me right) on old airport road is/was a cheat of the highest order. Every time I went to that bunk I used to get cheated because an attendant would distract me. I had no other choice because there were no other bunks between my house at Marathahalli and MG Road at that time (early 80's). Then came DM and sons (BP bunk oppsite to Manipal hospital) and I switched to that bunk. Never regretted it till I moved out of that area.
In my experience the best bunks in Bangalore are as follows
1) Reddy's bunk in Seshadripuram
2) BP bunk at Lalbagh West Gate
3) Shell bunk at Vittal Mallya Road(Please note that not all Shell bunks are good)
4) DM and sons on old airport road(opposite Manipal hospital)
5) Indian Oil bunk at Trinity junction after it became a COCO outlet
Add the BP bunk in Jeevan Bhima Nagar to that list. I either go to this one or the BP opposite Manipal Hospital. And by the way, they are the only bunks that are open 24/7 on that side of town and don't cheat!
I was under the impression that IOCL pump in Kormangala Bangalore opposite to Pizza Hut in 6th Block was a company-run pump. I had also recommended the pump to a few dear friends of mine. Last week, my lady dearest drove in there with her zen estilo, and the knuckleheads(KH) there tried the "strike conversation" technique with her. Ever since, I advise yall that this place 'might' have comparatively better petrol but the conmen still exist. Or maybe, they 'thought' they could pull it off with a supposedly weaker sex. Futile futile FUTILE attempt! clap:
MyLady to KH2: Full tank please
KH1 appears from nowhere from the bonnet side while MYLADY still has her eyes glued on KH2.
KH1(in kannada): Madam, which model is this car? (since I've trained my smart lady repeatedly, she understood something's fuzzy as a zen estilo is definitely not a crowd attention grabber)
MyLady gets out of the car still responding to KH1 while ensuring that she doesn't take her eyes off KH2 and his actions.
KH1(in Kannada): Madam, LOOK HERE! Your front tyre doesn't have enough air.
MyLady paid a deaf ear, as KH2 had still not started tanking up due to the stare and failed and futile attempts of deceit.
KH1 to KH2 (now in Telugu): Start re... I think she understood!
KH2 starts tanking up.
KH1 walks away from the scene.
MyLady turns around and then calls KH1 and starts talking to him in TELUGU (yup thanks to her few years in AP while her dad was posted there) asking him which tyre he was referring to?
KH1 in FULLLLL SHOCCCKKK! :uncontrol
I couldn't have been happier when she was narrating this incident to me. Knuckleheads of this nature need to be beaten at their own game. MyLady, you make me proud!
