Lots of lady auto drivers in Chennai. They're sober while the men are mostly drunk.

The Southie ladies are iron ladies I should say!

In B'lore, we have lady Bus (BMTC) conductors, lady Auto wallis, lady Bunk attendants etc.
And maybe soon lady BMTC drivers, Cabbies too!

Women fly Boeing 737 these days.. once on a rainy day, the flight I was in, aborted landing just few seconds from touch down at Mumbai airport. Not a nice feeling when u r anticipating a touch down and the plane takes off like a rocket at the last moment!!

A few minutes later, we hear the lady Pilot's voice sheepishly annoucing "Sorry, we had to abort landing because of bad weather"

In Pune, they were undergoing training a while ago to drive schoolbuses. Though I see them driving just the school vans.
There was a female truck driver featured in the papers a while back.

hehe btw in trichur sometime before there used to be private buses called "Vanitha Transport" in which the driver, the ticket collector and the door stander (kili) were women.but now somehow the bus under same name is operated by men
though the bus were driven by women, those buses used to ply as a normal bus,ie running at overspeed.

btw i have seen a couple of women behind the autorickshaws too around here

In Chennai we already have a woman Bus driver. The Hindu had half page review about her with a pic. This was about a year back.

Great to see Bharatiyanaris taking up this profession.

Hopefully this will mean better service, less cheating and sane driving. 3-cheers from me.

thats probably what we need in our country and specially in a city like delhi where safety for women is a major issue!
the reason why i feel most women are bad drivers is because its something they do out of compulssion n not because its a passion like it is with men!
its like a man getting his eyebrows threaded! some of them do it but the result doesn't seem good to me

[quote=gd1418;450616]Try asking the fairer sex to jack-up a vehicle. Minimum 2 hrs to locate the jack and another two to find out where to put..]

I think you are generalizing a bit too much.
80% of my friends (guys) won't be able to jack up a vehicle even in four hours.
