Unbelievable! Atrocious! The guy who owns the vehicle wants to show his loyalty to a political leader. I'm sure Tamils in this forum knows who that leader is.
For others, here's the explanation. Instead of Tamil Nadu (which by law should be stated as TN in number plates), he has written "That political leader's" Nadu. Literally that leader's country.
:Frustrati
The font, the background and the wordings! :p
What's this number? This was taken in my office building parking a few days back. Speaking of political parties, this one seems to own allegiance MNS!

I'm guessing that's 4727 :D
On a serious note, why doesn't the police cracked down on these number plate makers who openly disregard the law?

Yes! Thats 4727 in a combination of english & marathi. The police in Pune conveniently turn a blind eye to such people however
What's special about this number plate?
Yes, a BMW owner with 8055 as the number who didn't feel the need to be the "big boss" on the road! Hats off to you, mate. :-)

I hope he's from that rare breed. But I do have my doubts that he *might* have been booked for violating the number plate norms and then mellowed down :)
Over the last couple of days I have spotted few cars with following numbers:
1. 4221 - Writted in Hindi / Marathi as Paresh (Name of the Person)
2. 2757 - Written in Hindi / Marathi as 'Raj" Saheb. (I wonder the kids of the owner would be more happy if he wrote their name on the rear glass rather than mentioning the name of his Godfather on numger plate)
3. This is interesting - 8046 - Writted in marathi, to be read as word - Love in English.
Somehow I fail to understand people's fascination toward fancy numbers on their vehicles.
Thanks,

New trend seen in Bokaro. Ok, the number plate is illegal on almost all vehicles here, but what is the point of putting engine and chassis details on the plate itself? |
In Kerala, using the registration number and the chassis number, you can get the owner and address of the vehicle by looking up in the Motor Vehicles Dept
site!

It is either-or. You can look up the owner with just the registration number (or just the chassis number presumably; I haven't checked this).
You can do the same in AP too (
www.aptransport.in).
And in the most IT-enabled state, you are welcome to try at btis.in/rto, but more often than not it wouldn't be able to retrieve any information for you. :)
In none of these cases, I have seen the system displaying the address of the vehicle owner.

IIRC, these were not the case some time back. Initially, only the registration number needed to be keyed in, later they changed to AND chassis number and now either-or. About address, my memory is telling me that I've seen some long back; can't sure though.

Here it is. Saw this in MVD FB page. Not sure how it got a place there either for the license plate or usage of high beam.

Yesterday, saw a motorbike on Suranjan Das road near the Old Madras road junction. The vehicle had totally blank, pure white number plates, not even a scribbled/stickered temporary registration. This was in peak traffic right in front of cops, could not take a pic though.
