I don't think this is the case. For instance, I have both the Paytm and Airtel tag shown as active. I am waiting for the Airtel tag to be delivered before submitting the closure request for the Paytm Fastag.

Even prior to this, I have had two fastags active tied to the chassis number (as the dealer issued a tag, and I too purchased a Paytm tag separately). Interestingly, when I crossed a toll, the amount was deducted from both tags despite only one being stuck to the windshield, and the other was safely tucked inside the glove box.

Finally was forced to jump the bandwagon. Put in a request through Amazon Pay for ICICI Fastag and got it delivered on the 3rd working day since placing the order on last Sunday. Incidentally, the tag was activated on Sunday evening with the Tag number and CID No. communicated to me by SMS on Sunday itself.

Put in a closure request for PayTM fastag on Sunday and it got closed on Wednesday without any issues.

Great Service from both banks!

Since we can't recharge it, it didn't make sense to me to keep the PayTM Fastag. I closed it & opted for the one from HDFC.
By the way, removing the old fastag from the windshield is cumbersome. Anyone got tips to get rid of it easily?

Your best bet would be sanitizer, a damp cloth and a lot of repeated rubbing of the glue on windshield. While peeling do try to take as much glue with the sticker as possible by pulling gently.

Can you kindly share the link to apply for the ICICI fastag from Amazon?

It seems Amazon has launched the revised Fastag which is linked to the Amazon Pay Wallet. The entire ordering flow is within the Amazon App. It doesn't seem to be working from their website, only through the app.

However, one main challenge is that you can have only one fastag per AmazonPay wallet. You can't even order a new fastag after the initial order. I got excited about the fastag being linked to Amazon Pay wallet, placed the order for the first car, only to realise that I cannot place another order. Then checked the FAQ and the one tag per wallet limit was mentioned. Now fighting with Amazon to cancel and get a refund. The support agents seem clueless about the revised ICICI fastag though, after a long chat, they have a taken a request for cancellation of the order.

True, before my purchase of a FASTag, I was having a chat with Amazon support, and they couldn't answer a simple question: whether the payment would be debited directly from Amazon Pay or if I should recharge it separately. The answer I kept receiving was that I could recharge any FASTag using Amazon Pay balance. I tried to explain to them if it would function as a wallet or a Paytm model, but their response kept circling back to the option of recharging FASTag from Amazon Pay balance. Frustrated, I opted for Airtel. It seems like all the customer service regarding FASTag is lacking. The same issue persists with Airtel, as it will take them a long time to grasp the problem itself.

It will not get deducted from the Amazon Pay account. You will have to recharge the tag account directly. You can register at ICICI bank fastag login and top it up. The same holds good for all the Fastag. Only Paytm was an exception till date.

Just wanted to post my opinion here. Like many others, I was also excited to know about Amazon pay ICICI fastag. The FAQ section has cleared the doubts that we only need to maintain balance in Amazon pay wallet and everytime we cross a toll, it would get deducted from the wallet itself. Just like Paytm. I was excited.
But it was downhill from thereon. I tried registering for a new fastag, but the website threw an error saying I already have an active tag, despite getting my old Paytm tag duly cancelled. The customer support executives tried to be helpful but I lost my patience. Went to the nearest toll and got an IDFC fastag with fantastic customer service.
Options I tried before opting for IDFC:
1. Airtel - Good luck speaking to customer care.
2. Park+ - No efforts required to speak to customer care. Because there is none. Literally, no number to contact them. Their chat bot is so stupid, only option is to email their customer care and wait patiently for 72 hours. No kidding!:Frustrati
3. HDFC - Just 15 minutes or position in queue is 35+ in customer care. Bid Goodbye!
4. ICICI/Amazon pay ICICI - The website wouldn't let me order a fastag as mentioned earlier.rl:
5. IDFC - Customer care picked up the call in less than 20 seconds, had clarity and knowledge to guide me and answer my questions. First forward app is great, although not necessary. The MAX program is not activated by default in my case. Recharge through UPI apps are instantaneous. Fantastic! Embraced with open arms!

I signed up for AP ICICI card last week. Before signing up, I'm pretty sure I saw a banner saying it offers 1% cashback for Prime Members. And while signing up, the FAQ said the Fastag will use the Amazon Pay balance and any recharge done to the Fastag will top up my Amazon Pay balance.

But I received the tag yesterday from ICICI and it currently has a standalone balance as well as I could check. The envelope or the letter or the tag itself doesn't have any mention of Amazon Pay, just ICICI.

The only place I could see that it's an Amazon Pay tag is it says under the Fastag section in Amazon app as Amazon Pay Fastag with just a Recharge button. I did a recharge using UPI directly to the tag and it certainly didn't increase my Amazon Pay balance like how it used to do for my Paytm tag.

I honestly feel like this is a bait and switch and now I'm just using a plain ICICI tag. Not that it is a big deal but it's annoying.

I ordered Amazon Pay ICIC fastag on 12th March. Unfortunately it is not new and improved version. But I can see this fastag in my amazon pay account. In my case, toll gets deducted from ICICI fastag wallet only and not amazon wallet. While recharge can be done via Amazon pay, it only takes amazon pay UPI and not amazon pay GV balance

Whether or not toll will deduct directly from amazon pay balance is now becoming a mystery with so called "new and improved" version. Someone pls use it and let us know. I think people who ordered post 13-14th March are getting this new version of fastag

It is not new and improved version of Fastag. Your case is similar to mine

New version has clear mentions of Amazon Pay in the brochure

I see, but I signed up just last Monday. I'm fine with the tag and brochures not having Amazon branding but I just want the tag to use Amazon Pay balance and want auto-reload.

How do you create the wallet? Pls tell us more about this as it seems to simplify things at users end. Thanks.

When you order a fastag from HDFC, by default a wallet is created for your fastag account. You will need to login in through their mycards website with the mobile number provided while registering for the fastag. You will get an OTP the first time and then you need to create a password.

When ordering a new tag from their link, whilst giving them the mobile number, give the same number as the one given earlier. The new tag will get linked to the same wallet. I have 2 vehicles linked to the wallet as of now, planning to get the third one also linked.
