I am coming to Chennai this Thursday morning.
Can hardly wait to see the my beautiful city all washed and clean for my arrival.

I simply love the city when it rains.
Remember sitting at Elliots during college days, wearing a rain coat and still getting soaked to the bone.

Ha ha ha Imran just be aware that most of teh roads in chennai is in bad condition. So if you are planning for a in city drive just be cautious of the man sized pot holes and car sized boulders (the one they are using to patch the road with)

I love the rain.
But... not in Chennai.

Reasons

1) (Can't really blame anyone for this, its the way things are) - People who are driving/riding has no common sense they just splash water on the poor pedestrians and drive on. I've even seen 2 wheeler folks doing this, they too get soaked, so I can't really understand why they do it in the first place. They don't slow down and poor chaps who are walking/riding/driving slow, so they get soaked. Damn the buses and the cabs...!

2) Most of the guy has no clue how to drive in wet conditions. For example seeing a wet patch most folks here do a "panic" braking. Utter foolishness.
(I come from Cochin and been driving around in lots of rain, so trust me on this.)

3) Chennai is a well planned out city sans proper drainage add to the fact the most guys have no idea what to do. I've seen folks brake in the middle of a 1-2 feet of water to get stuck and take 2-3 folks with them.

4) My car is with my bro as he sold his car and I have no choice to get my trust Rx-Z to work so wet wet wet.

5) Chennai roads has managed to get water inside my car. Carpets are wet and has been taken out and runs now like a rally/race cat with no carpets . My poor poor car.

As I said I love the rain. But, NOT in Chennai.

Definitely not, it is out of bounds for anything other than drying of clothes!

It was raining heavily in Old Mahabalipuram Road Aka. Rajiv Gandhi Road in this morning. Traffic was bit of problem and the toll queued up for kilometers.

Ok you jokers, its not exactly the roads "alone", you know combination of factors.

I would't have dared to challenge the flooded roads, since my bro is using the car now (as he sold his wagon R) he was feeling more "adventurous".

But feel the pain and cry with me, will ya ?

Today Morning I drove to Velachery to drop my wife to office. Surprise!! Surprise in Velachery - Taramani Link road and OMR to Velachery Road. There was no traffic at all. Traffic was very well managed. So was wondering what happened suddenly today, then realised that the roads were completely submerged and nobody took these roads today morning . I felt the traffic in others parts from Adyar to T.Nagar to my office was less than usual.

I thought the traffic towards Koyambedu was not flowing at all. I was on my way towards the Thiruvika Industrial estate from Adyar and after i got onto the Kattipara flyover it actually took me 45 mins to get down off the bridge.
