RX8 is a nice little car. Revs like there's no tomorrow and feels reasonably powerful. Good fun to drive hard, especially around a track!

I liked the RX8 until i test drove one + i've driven one that belongs to someone who works with me. If you ask me - drinks way too much petrol, and very underpowered for its engine size... I drove a 350Z and thought that was wayyy better... i think my cars better too

Samir, the fuel consumption is a typical problem of a rotary engine. Also it's a 1.3 litre engine, and though you can't directly compare a rotary engine of x displacement to a regular petrol engine of the same capacity, there's nothing wrong with 220+ bhp being made from such an engine.

It makes all it's power at high revs, so maybe, if you weren't fully extending the car you drove, that is why you feel it is under powered.

You're also comparing it to a car with a 3.5L V6, which is a bit of an apples to oranges kind of comparison!

See thats the problem the RX8 is actually equivalent to a 3.9 - when you take into consideration that the car has 2 rotars with 3 champers each. Mazda says the 1.3 is in the active chamber (combustion chamber), but what happens to the inlet and exhaust chamber? Thats why the fuel economy is compared to a larger capacity engine.

According to Mazda there's 650cc per chamber - the math is easy.

Another thing with the RX8 - it drinks oil and it is only viable if you drive it at medium to high RPM. Stop start and cold runs deteriorate the rotor tip seals up

So between an RX8, Z and S2000 what do you guys recommend? I was all prepared to buy a Z and my test drive turned out to be a big big disappointment..

S2000 > RX8 > 350Z. if you plan to use the car on track to the S2000 is awesome i think it revs upto 9000 rpm if i m not wrong. one of the best handling cars, sad that it will no longer be produced after 2010.

I agree with F450... for looks the 370Z...but i would choose the s2000 over the Rx8... The S2000 is the kind of car that does what its meant to do... nuhting more nuthing less... i am certainly not a fan of the RX8...

Never driven an S2000 but I recall reading somewhere that the handling is a bit "lively" if you get my meaning! :O

Spotted this 360 late last night, or maybe early morning parked outside Koyla in Koregaon Park.
Funny thing is that i did'nt notice the car first, what caught my eye was a group of guys jumping around it, all excited and all, LOL!

I think i spotted the ferrari california last night!!!!!!!!
It was a dark color, couldnt make out which color tho. It had the top down, when i saw it i was confused, when i came home i googled it and the headlights and tail lights matched perfectly to what i had seen.

HAS ANYONE ELSE SEEN IT???
