Same here. But I drove a stick shift Carrera S in L.A a few months ago so I decided to buy the upcoming 2010 Turbo (with the 500 + bhp engine) in stick.

Do you know for sure that it'll come in a stick? I'm guessing that car will make well over 500 lb-ft and more with overboost. Once torque figures get that high, manual gear boxes get hard to come by.

I am hoping that it does come in stick tranny, as I am not a big fan of the PDK.

A lag in downshift is pretty disappointing to hear of in a 911 ! Maybe the drive by wire transmission settings need to be reset. How many Kms has the car done?
I do this on my BMW everytime i experience a lag over a period of time, reset the tranny by starting the car just before the ignition cranks(all electronics start up) and press the accelerator for 25-30 seconds....problem solved, at least for me. Ask you're friend to give it a shot.

The car is very new, barely run 330 Kms. I guess I have never really owned an automatic and so I am very used to the ability to be in the right gear at the right time. I was driving in "D" and so it would have probably been better if I had manually stepped-down a couple of gears with the Tiptronic.

Nice pictures of the car Karl. The car looks awesome. I just love the wheel design on the 997 Turbos.

What a way to start off 2009 !

While on my way to work, spotted a Red Bentley Azure at University circle. Looks absolutely stunning ! I don't know whether the car belongs to someone from Pune, as I saw it for the first time. Any pointers ??

Top down, on a warm winter morning. That's really some way to cool down the New Year bash madness !

@amatmo - yeah man, I am absolutely sure it was the Bentley Azure. And somehow, I simply cannot forget the sight of that bright red car standing across the signal.

Too bad that I spotted it after my signal turned green - otherwise there would've been a lot of pics to post

@kbk - can you disclose the location of the Porsche ? My dad spotted the same ( ??? ) car 3-4 days back and he's totally floored by the exhaust note.

@kbk - no problem, mate ! Can totally understand the reasons behind it. Thanks for the pics though. She's definitely H-O-T !

Btw, there's one more turbo in pune, with same colour. Its usually seen on Senapati Bapat road, and is always accompanied by a Cayenne as an escort vehicle.

@Atom - Nopes. It must have been ages since i saw the LP. About 2 months back, a Yellow supercar flew past in my opposite lane on Spicer college road - and i thought it was the LP, but I dont know for sure.

AFAIK there are TWO more 911 Turbos that are Pune residents!
