indian car market has trounced a lot of notions about what all wouldn't
sell here.. i would love to see that happening in the sportsute/pickup truck
category..

cheers
I actually meant the nissan, mitsubishi and ford trucks at around 18L. I believe the The tata truck would do very well, plus we would be buying Indian and supporting our economy.

Its good to see how the tata truck has travelled from the tata mobile to the tata hilux.

hi amatmo,
i remember distinctly that when the innova was slated to replace
the qualis, it was reported that innova was actually 7% cheaper
to manufacture than the outgoing qualis.. probably due to
innova utilizing a multiple application platform and the associated
economies of scale. but, toyota launched the innova with a much
higher price tag than the qualis..

so, i am sure the hilux will be priced a lot higher than the innova,
becuase toyota would like to market it as a upmarket, lifestyle
product, irrespective of how much it costs to manufacture..

cheers
