BMW 530D in Chennai -PICS

I was riding shotgun on my friend's Dio when I spotted this black beauty in a hotel parking lot. I screamed at him to stop and within minutes we were all over the car. Thankfully I had my camera with me and so Ive got some pics.
I cant see how anyone could call this car ugly. I loved it in the pics, but in the flesh, it just bowled me over ( especially in black with those rims).
If you notice, the rear light is of a different design, it is fully white and crystal-like and not the usual one. To be frank, it didnt look that good but gave an excellent effect when viewed side-on.
If I were given a choice, I would take this car over the E-class or A6 any day, just for those looks and that engine.

Wat is it with those colourless tail lights?? dont tell me they are a standard fitment. Neither do i think it is an optional extra from BMW?? HELPP!!

But I am not quite sure how the diesel engines of BMW match up to the mercs CDI? Since the merc CDI's are considered better than its petrol variant., like the E270 Cdi is better than the E240 likewise is the 530d better than the normal 530i? I have driven the new 545i and i got just two words for it... A Smooth Rocket!! If a 545d comes out with the same performance then its gonna rule!!
I am pretty sure those tailamps are aftermarket fittings.

nice pics islero. the aftermarekt tail lights do look cheap. in the thumbnail however they make the 5 series look like a 911 from the rear.

Pound for pound, the BMW diesel engines are far better. They are more free revving and coupled with the BMW chassis dynamics are fun to drive as well. Not only do they match but are way better than a comparable Mercedes Diesel.

Just check out the new 535D. It has 272 horses and torque that is higher than an M5's. It does 0-60mph in around the 6 second mark. Top Speed without limiter is around 180 mph. That is as fast as a de-restricted prev gen E-39M5. Mercedes is busy trying to find an answer to the problem.

Remember the 530D once upon a time set world records for being the fastest diesel in the world. And this is way back in 1998. The one here in the pic is a full two generations ahead based on the same engine block. You still wanna compare the E270CDi to the 530D. Ok, one feature. 0-100 in an E270 is 10 secs. It's 7 in a 530D. And they retail for more or less similar prices, give or take a few lakhs.

i dont think those are aftermarket tail lamps ..
i have seen a 740D (Silver) with dark tints ,it had the same Silver tail lamps... those pics are not doig justice to the lamps ...

i also spotted a 525tds (black) last week ..

Now this is one car i can sit and drool over all day long and still not get over it! A black 5 series with jet black tints, 19inch rims on the minimum and a decent lowering skirting kit... and i love those clearstyle tail lamps, theyre very much aftermarket. And i think ill pop in one of those sharkfins on the roof. There u go, my perfect car for going to go to work.

the 535 d is the fastest right hand drive diesel car as the E420 CDi is only availaible as a left hooker

Hey folks.... Spotted this black M5 in chennai today, near the American Consulate.. Chauffer driven, and this guy was taking a U turn before the Woodlands drive-in restrauant....

Also, spotted a White M5 near Thiruvanmayur signal, a couple of weeks before.... Both these M5s look spanking NEW.....

Exactly how many M5s are there in Chennai....
