Got a early call today that Street 750 is available for Test drive this morning, actual the first guy to do the test drive here in Hyderabad.

Without much delay, I choose to work from home and visited the showroom.

This time( after the showroom display of glossy ) it's all matt black... Must say it looks much better than the glossy finish, mean, and way better than all talked and seen.

Finished few simple formalities and then HD folks did ask for the shoes to be worn, then they offered me the HD shoes at showroom to take the TD.

The ignition on, I can hear the growl different and is certainly not as other HD's. This is much to its own style ... A new cult.

I started the TD with gears as 1 down and 5 ups.... One word a super surge of power band and never felt any strain while pulling unlike the typical cruisers, I zipped through the busy traffic changing gears, it's never made me feel miss on power band in any which way, certainly suited for city traffic, stop and go easy to handle around turns and corners.

Shifting those many gears in city is anyways same for almost all bike in the segment, but my main motive of understanding it's behaviour brought me some smiles.

There are of course some aspects with open wiring, sockets exposed which are still questions that HD needs to look at on full packaging.

I would sum it up by stating that Street 750, we have a winner and certainly will create a new cult.

Styling hands down is just too good!

Hey can you please answer a few queries I have -
1. I'm an inexperienced rider when it comes to this category of power/performance , I found the bike comfortable when I sat on it but do you feel the performance might be too much for a newbie to manage or is it within control ?

2. What are the brakes like ?

3. Did it heat up noticeably(I assume not because of radiator) ?

4. Did you enquire about expected delivery month for booking the bike now , word is september earliest for booking next week which is dissapointing .

Handling:Bike is very comfortable seating , so much that I personally felt good and better than super low. It's just a matter of few kms ride that one could easily get used to bike and it's dynamics, good part it's not as heavy(280-320kgs) like typical


Brakes:One word apt and well mated


Heating:This is one specific observation I had that it's sensational that it isn't through in heat like few other bike in and around this segment, thanks to its liquid cooled approach that can take Indian summers.

Delivery time in Hyderabad :Book now and could get around Jun-Jul, my friend who booked last week is getting his delivered in June 1st week. To sum up,I can safely saw its a very good bet , one needs to do a good test drive to believe it.

vcx, it would help us to gauge the size of the bike relatively if you let us know how big you yourself are. It could very well be camera angle, but the bike does look pretty tiny under you.

I am a big boy, 5'10" heavy weight with 44 " shoulders, you could related the snaps from these aspects. It would go more perfect with some one of similar height and some moderate build if not heavy!

Marked change in note when the VTEC kicks in. Given as an example (or counterexample! depending on what we are talking about.)

In that case, dimension-wise, its equal to or maybe even smaller than a Bajaj Avenger, by the looks of it. Looking at the position of the pegs, a 6 footer will hardly be having the typical Harley type feet forward stance.

Firstly , we should stop comparing to avenger , the size and dimensions are much different . Yes, I did feel than same initially, until looking at it in flesh and blood and more important driving it.

Also, it's not typical Harley's rather is new age Harley... come on some where we need new breed. What better time than our times!

I would insist all pls .drive it thoroughly and experience for yourself the responsiveness and handling.

A friend booked one and he hope to get it by June/July. I was expecting him to buy a Ninja 650 or the Bonnie.

Actually, they are not all that different - neither visualy nor if you compare the actual dimensions. Not by much anyways.

Overall Length - The Street is just about 3 cm longer (2226 vs 2195)

BUT

Wheelbase - The Street has a 20 cm longer wheelbase (1704 vs 1475) - however, this will have an effect on the handling characteristics and not on the size and look of the bike.

Overall Width - The Street is about 6 cm wider (815 vs 750)

Seat Height - Same (709 vs 710)

Ground Clearance - The Street has 2.5 cm less ground clearance than the Avenger (144 vs 169)

Only for Weight is the Street distinctly bigger - by a whole 64 kilos (218 vs 154)

Also another thing I wanted to ask you - the bike you are sitting on has a different looking headlight nacelle. Is that because the bikini fairing had been remove, or is this a different variant?

Have you actually seen the Street750 in the flesh?

Or are you just comparing figures and viewing through tinted lenses?

Thanks for a nice review. Good to know Street 750 is better in performance than how it looks which I am not a fan of as I agree looks like a Bajaj Avenger due its low height and slight rounded overall look.

In lower range HD's, my favorite is Iron 883 and it looks simply gorgeous.
Will test ride the HD 750 soon and will post my feedback here

We both are almost similar personality with me being 6.1 tall and here is a comparison of how I look on Iron 883 vs. yourself on HD 750 just to compare the size of both these bikes

Yes gthang, I've seen many 883s in the flesh. And the 750 is smaller.

There is nothing tinted here. Just putting my views forward to how small the bike looks under a 5' 10" rider in the photos.

And then backing up the statement with actual dimensions. Can't argue facts.

I'm 6'1 and of similar girth as mobike008 and tried out the bike , yes it is on the smaller side but not uncomfortable. One of the reason it looks small is because of 17" front , rake it out slightly and put 19" on that and suddenly it will appear 'bigger'. However I feel that primary target are the 5'8-'5'10 chaps wearing slim fit clothes riding along with a size zero girlfriend . Forget about any decently sized pillion on this bike , they will just slide off :D

Also 2 seperate users including uploader of above video(at street forum) who have booked their bike have said that the dealer told them 0-100 is in less than 4 sec stock form !!! V-rod does it in 3.1-3.5 sec depending on model. While not confirmed , that is certainly a serious performance number especially for a bike of this weight.

I guess that means no, you have not seen one, right?

I thought you were comparing to Avenger?
