I understand what you are saying very well! A more maniacal Busa was being expected after all these years and the numbers look like they don't do justice to the bike!
I for one hope it's easier to ride, faster to exciting speeds and won't cost a lot more than the 2nd gen!
Hoping for all of this so that maybe a few years down the line when I could possibly be in a position to buy this bike I'll find some good gen 3 Busa's in the pre owned market
This motorcycle has evoked very strong emotions! Due to a ghastly incident I witnessed a few weeks ago I had stopped dreaming of owning a superbike, but this bike is slowly turning me around!

Gen 2 is easy to ride as per superbike standards. A new rider might get intimidated with its looks, weight and power figures but once you get used to it all this fear will slowly fade away.

The way it delivers all that power in a linear fashion throughout the rev range is what makes it more enjoyable to ride and the experience is less scary to lets say some Kwackers from the litre category. The older Kwacker like a friends 2005 10R with a Muzzy exhaust is one maniac motorcycle to ride as these things get brutal once you cross the 6k rpm mark with a mad topend.

Hence, even with more power and torque on a Busa till the time you keep your right wrist in check you should be fine be it in a corner or on a straight line.

On the pricing the Gen 3 in India with its phenomenal electronics package will have the same or higher ex-showroom price similar to the OTR price of the Gen 2 provided its a CKD or it could be more expensive.

I just hope the electronics on Gen 3 just enhance the riding experience and don’t get too intrusive. Very keen to see how the ride by wire performs and should not performlike the GSX S1000 does at low speed where you need to put it in the 3rd setting of traction control to make the throttle response dull as otherwise it too sensitive and snappy at low revs.

2021 Suzuki Hayabusa to launch in India in Q2 2021.

- The new-gen Hayabusa will come to India via the CKD route.

the price is expected to be much higher than before. Sources suggest that the new Suzuki Hayabusa could be priced more in the Rs 17-18 lakh (ex-showroom) price point when it goes on sale in India.

Priced at 16,499 GBP in UK, that is approximately 16.75 lacs. Be ready for an eye watering price for India, I am guessing 17.99 as starting price.

Accessories are priced astronomically too, billet brake lever and clutch lever are priced at 260 GBP each. Well Hayabusa fans might have to actually do a Dhoom and rob a bank soon.

This is going to be expensive once it hit shores.

However, most true Hayabusa fans world over are actually holding on to their Gen II's for much longer. With the amount of stuff already put in their second generation bike, no reason to jump to the new generation just for the upgraded electronics. I know I am holding on to mine for another 20/30k kms as the new one hardly brings anything for me other than the looks and the superb electronics package.

In India though , Hayabusa never did what it was truly meant to do, fast interstate touring. It was made famous by a movie for all the wrong reasons and the flash boys with daddys money bought and crashed the Gen 2 left right and center. They will eventually buy the Gen 3 for its brand name and newness though they dont have the same bragging rights they had back in 08.

re: The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa unveiled with a 1,340 cc engine

Finally, a proper road test review.

Same performance as a Gen II with a 15% lower fuel mileage. Only plus would be the electronic package and slightly better brakes, all of which comes with a higher price tag.

Seems Suzuki has just managed to keep the Busa brand alive

Saw several Gen 2 used Busas pop up for for sale in the past few days. Was wondering if they are taken care of or thrashed thoroughly, as you highlighted.

Unless you are absolutely sure about the history/condition of the bike stay away. Most of these Gen 2 Hayabusa's were abused. Running old unchanged oil, no service, clogged filters, bent and leaking forks, fake exhausts, warped rotors, worn out clutches, cheap batteries, wiring cuts and splices, sub standard replacement parts, excessive stationary throttling and red lining and even possible engine damage. This is assuming the bike was not dropped or crashed and fake fairing is installed. Thank fully spotting a fake faring is quite easy.

Suzuki sold Hayabusa in buckets, so it is quite easy to find a well kept bike directly from the owner.

Looks like they are following the Kawasaki path of CKD. Rear seat cowl means no need to fix a saree guard. Good move.
