Not commenting on the topic under discussion, but I have a related story to add.

A US Air Forces F 16 was once asked to escort a B52 on a transcontinental flight. The B52 is a WWII era lumbering old machine with a top speed of about 500 knots while the F16 can reach Mach 1.8. The F16 pilot, a greenhorn, tired of of flying slow does a barrel roll and an flies upside down for a while and then radioes the B52 pilot and say's can your plane do this.
The B52 pilot says, you just watch what it can do. After 10 minutes he returns and tells the F16 pilot if he can do that. The confused F16 pilot says, you didn't do anything... you were only flying straight. To that the B52 pilot says, I just went downstairs to make a coffee.

SuperBike or Super Car? I personally would be happy if I can afford either of the two.

If u are a biker, you won't want a pillion, whether it's raining or it's sunny. You wouldn't want a girl sitting behind you saying "Slow down", "I'm scared" or "Don't bend so much".

I've seen so many SBKers complain of having a rear pillion seat and hence their wives wanting to tag along.

But honestly, forget rains...A girl would admit she has more fun and thrills on a fast bike than in a fast car.

5. Leaving price out of the picture....a Porsche 911 or a Yamaha R1. Which would you rather own?

Think you know by now!

personally, i hate such generalisations! Things like a real biker does this and a real biker does that. Frankly, someone genuinely passionate about bikes wouldn't bother saying things like that. Its usually the guys who want to portray some sort of image that end up saying these things.

Both!!

I would choose a superbike and a supercar. The bike whenever the weather is suitable for biking, and the supercar when the weather is not-so-good for biking!
And oh yes, its easier to avoid the potholes with just two wheels!!

I would like to have the superbike for the weekends and normal cars for the current condition of roads here.

how about a compromise like a trike ? sometime back, there was the review of such a trike called TREX in 5th gear...
found this video on YOUTUBE about this vehicle

its powered by a 1400cc kawasaki engine , puts out 187HP, 0-60mph - 3.5 secs

i think this would give the thrill of driving a super car within the confines of a roof etc and also the rawness of a superbike cornering closer to the road surface....
