Even if you do manage to get one, getting spares for the bike could turn out to be a nightmare.

getting spares and service will be more difficult than getting the bike itself

You'll probably get a late 80's 400 or perhaps an 90's Ninja500.

Hey guys,
The mech who fitted the K&N on kphilips bike has the Bmw F650(if i'm not mistaken).. But he has changed the name and on the seat it reads kawasaki...LOL!!!! Seat color is emmm not definetly my type.. Its a combo of some light colors(looks sad to me)..
He bought a brand new Harley last month(imported from dubai).. He even bought that Harley to the Speedrun at B'lore.. Obviously just to park it for people to drool over!!!!!

But donno if he plans to sell off the F650... Cos i guess he uses that as his daily ride.. May be i'l enquire...

Man, I still regret the day when I took back the cheque from the Vama guys. This was when BMW was selling off their stock of F650's for Rs.1,99,999/-. The same bike sells for MORE than that price now...used and battered!

nope its sales were horrible... from what i got to know BMW managed to sell only 75 bikes(tho i think who bought them ) even tho they decreased the price from arnd 4.5 lacs to arnd 2 lacs.

Though the bike is nothing gr8 coz its a single cylinder 650cc engine. i mean multi cylinders sound so goooooooood

btw one of my frend in mumbai told me a month or 2 back that there was a suzuki TLR250 for sale for arnd 1.25L (or may be less) & it has arnd 60-70 BHP

True! That was one of the main reasons I was not too keen on the bike. It just didn't sound like a proper bike should! That single cylinder sounded like a HH CBZ!

However, all things considered, the F650 is probably the best suited bike for our indian conditions.
