Though its a well made & engineered car, it is pricey for what it offers. But we don't have any other choice if we don't want to go to the Big 3.

Hey GTO,

Few quick questions for you:
1. If space is not a concern, what are the better options over Compass today for back-seat usage in the price range of Compass Longitude (O) whose onroad price is 20.7 lakh? Assume that it has to be a diesel with excellent build quality and not as lengthy as a Hexa/Innova. Altis and Elantra loses out on build quality, Octavia TDI Style is almost 4.5 lakh (onroad) more compared to Compass Longitute (O). Leaving the bare-bone base variant, Tucson is also quite expensive. I felt Compass has good legroom at back, its only the width that is smaller.

2. Isn't the low speed ride of Jetta TDI and Octavia TDI also a bit stiff?

3. Since new Jetta is not available now, what will you select between Octavia TDI and Compass as a self-driven car?
