Its not exactly because the interiors are roomy.

Its because the Centre of Gravity in such tall vehicles are much higher than sedans, that is the weight of the car is higher above the ground which causes it to roll while taking sharp turns. In simple terms, the taller the vehicle, more the roll. of course, this is a general fact & other attributes like suspension setup & anti roll bar also matters.

so a civic will roll lesser compared to a xylo but more compared to a ferrari!

SUV / MUV Scorpio SLE with added alloys / Xylo E8+ with ABS ?

Hello BHPians,

I read a detailed discussion of Evils thread Xylo or Scorpio and now I request people to help me to get out of dilemma.

My requirements

1. Must be 8 seater as i have twin sons of 2.3 years old (they should sleep in long travel)

2. Must have ABS (both Scorp SLE and Xylo E8+ has it)

3. Good enough space even for third row (at time will travel with my brothers family and parents)

4. VFM

5. Budget 10 ~ 11 Lacs

6. Comfort drive (if not aggressive)

7. Should not lag in power (as I use to do in my zen - Switching off the AC while overtaking ) I believe that doesn't apply for any vehicles in this segment -- Please correct me if am wrong.

Often i want to drive long (300 ~ 500 kms one way) with no issues for passengers and i am sure i won't exceed 120 KMPH as i have kids.

For me Xylo Java brown with black and silver interiors looks good (if not very good)

Scorpio is taking advantage on masculine style.

Please vote your opinions please

1. Must be 8 seater as i have twin sons of 2.3 years old (they should sleep in long travel) - Xylo

2. You have the answer

3. Good enough space even for third row (at time will travel with my brothers family and parents)-Xylo

4. VFM - Xylo

5. Budget 10 ~ 11 Lacs - Xylo and Scorpio

6. Comfort drive (if not aggressive)- Xylo

7. Should not lag in power (as I use to do in my zen - Switching off the AC while overtaking ) I believe that doesn't apply for any vehicles in this segment -- Please correct me if am wrong. Both Scropio and Xylo have enough of power.

Xylo meets your requirements to the T. Scorpio is not a bad buy, but it lacks the 3-row seating and generous space which Xylo offers.

Cheers,
Rajesh

Now, this is a very tough decision to make.
As you already know, the xylo's looks are hard to digest, but they grow on you. on the other hand, the scorp is the macho suv.
Comfort wise, the scorpio is not even close to the xylo. Even a fully grown, 6 feet guy can sit comfortably in the third row of the xylo, which is not possible in the scorpio.
Plus, the xylo e8 offers airbags, DDAS and all the bells and whistles which the scorpio sle does not offer.
the scorpio is better for 5 people. If you want a comfortable 8 seater muv, go for the xylo.
And since you wont be exceeding 120kph, the xylo fits all your requirements. it can comfortably cruise at a 145kph.
But both the xylo and scorpio offer enough power. The scorpio has much more road presence.
i saw, you test drive both of them and go with your heart

tilak we discussed this some time back and I wouldn't think twice if I were you. Leave the Xylo out of the equation and test drive the Scorpio again(you never showed interest in the Dicor).

If your heart says Scorpio, pick up the Scorpio and in the VLX variant with all captain seats. All the bells and whistles is a part of the VLX package.

Re: Xylo e8 vs Scorpio mhawk

I'm in the same dilemma.

I test drove both (even E8 and Scorp VLX) and in terms of driver experience, Scorpio is a clear winner. But in terms of co-passenger comfort, Xylo seems to be better

Some of my observations are in this link :

Still confused whether to go for E4 Xylo or Scorpio Lx (The difference is price is about 10-12k)

Even I'm facing this issue. My vehicle is in warranty. But service guy is saying its not covered in warranty as the wire is cut. Did you get it replaced warranty or you had to pay for it?

I feel its not wareable unit, should be covered in warranty.

As far as I remember, I had to pay for it. But I am not exactly sure!
