i see sanjha chula everyday :) would prefer going to a place that i don't pass daily! thats why i suggested sher-e punjab (which is also roomier than SC... better place to adda-marofy!)
@razor - hmmm... okies! i am game for sher-e-punjab. i will check whether they serve booz or not. the stretch from airport to sher-e-punjab is good.

Kolaghat sher-e-punjab has a bar attached and its pretty good and even with our Fiat it takes around 45-50 mins from the 2nd bridge...there is one resort called Nirala (just before the Kolaghat bridge) having a decent lawn and a swimming pool and they serve pretty good food on prior intimation.
@planet distance should not be a problem for your car, mine can take it non-stop till Digha even now after 38 yrs of coming out of the showroom.
Oh wow... shantiniketan... bolpur... all of a sudden I am nostalgic about my bong roots :D
Ok... so shantiniketan is out... decide something else then... Anyhow, if I manage it on the day (as I said, schedule always gets stretched when you land up in kolkata in a year) I will have to tag along with one of you guys... so I am ok with anything and everything.
Let's stick to Sher-E-Punjab.
I'll be on vacation starting today with no access to internet .. will be back during December last week.

Sher e Punjab (airport) doesnt have a bar - 30-45 mins drive from Nicco Park (via rajarhat)
Sher e Punjab (kolaghat) 30-45 mins drive from Vidyasagar setu - according to 1100D.

Let's meet in front of Nicco Park .. there are some trees out there where we can wait in the shade - us i.e. not the cars .. not enough shade for them.
