Starting a new thread for discussion of all Team-BHP meets in 2016

2015 was simply pathetic in terms of meets conducted. Hoping we compensate in 2016

Jan 9 (Dinner) OR Jan 10 ( Lunch)

OR

Jan 16 OR Jan 17 (Drive & Lunch)

Subscribe to this thread so you get regular updates. I reckon we should go with bajaj saab recommendation of a short drive culminating in lunch either in city or someplace closeby (100-150kms drive range)

My recommendations

1. Drive to Vikarabad and lunch at Haritha
2. Drive towards Vijaywada and lunch at 7 in Suryapet
3. Drive towards Nagpur and there are couple of places for lunch in 100kms range
4. Drive on Bangalore highway and return to city to a nice restuarant for lunch

All of above can be done on Jan 17th

So let the opinions/suggestions flow in till then

I suggest Option 1 but "modified" as below :

Drive to Vikarabad and return to the newly opened Mrugavani Resort (opposite Mrugavani National Park, just after Himayatsagar Lake, just after ORR exit at APPA junction, much before Chilkur) for lunch.

Those opting only for lunch (sans drive) can join up directly at the resort.

This sounds good, 17th would be an extended weekend as well.
About drive options #1 and #3 is preferable.

Thank you Bajaj Saab. I think your recommendation is perfect since most are tilting towards Vikarabad as the preferred destination.

Great to see new thread starting, the choice looks good.

Basis my understanding Vikarabad route is 2+2 lane with some traffic, and factor the popular "Sankranti" Festival holidays too.

We have done Vikarabad plenty of times as TBHP drive meets. And, I have done this route on my bike also many times in past. It's narrow road with some patches around and you need to keep the speeds < 100kmph which is always good for drive meets

Its a long weekend! Most of the folks would probably be out of town.

I am returning back to Hyd on 17th morning. So might not join for the drive, but can try to catch the group directly for lunch.

Meeting Time : 9:00am Sharp

Drive : 9:00am-12:30pm (Including reaching lunch venue)

Lunch : 12:30pm-2:30pm

We disperse by 2:30pm...

Will confirm the meeting venue by Friday. Keep your eyes glued on this thread !!!

I have some family visiting and they will also join up. Would appreciate if we all stick to above timings and we can wrap up by 2:30pm
