| Senior - BHPian  | Hi John, I just wanted to post up that the the road to Pulicat after the Chennai Port is extremely rough and will be much worse after the rains. (stretch of 25+ kms) I say lets bring out the SUV/MUV/other UV's for this trip. Any date is fine with me. Regards, Arka |

| BHPian  | isnt the GQ the route to pulicat ? I thought we just drive along the AP highway and thats a real nice road. Further down the road, take a right, cross the railway track and drive furhter for approx 1 km. |

| BHPian | Sorry for going OT: in my earlier post. The route is pretty straight forward. Keep going on the GQ which you would take to Andhra (The one through Red hills). Once you cross redhills after 5-7 kms you will find a right to ponneri. You can ask for it in redhills and the local people will help you out( Make sure you ask for Ponneri not pulicat lake, since they wouldn't know the english name). From there on the road becomes worse but nothing a M800 could not handle. We infact did the trip in 2 M800s. No need of UVs. It is a total of 20kms inside. You will cross Minjur after Ponneri. You can use that for reference. So when are you guys doing it. Keep me posted.Beware of touts for the boat rides though. |
