It seems like swine-flu or a chciken-pox pandemic, this year a rash of being Leh'ed is happening...

I'm travelling with HVK and group going to Leh through the Srinagar, Kargil Route.

Tanveer called from Leh this morning, they reached last evening. Road conditions are atrocious to say the least, Rohtang was the worst. Dry & extremely dusty conditions prevailing. It took them 14 hours from Keylong to Leh.

Not for nothing it is called the cold desert. Going through all Leh related threads & posts, IMO, end May 1st week of June is the best time to go to Leh-Ladakh.

i m in Leh, did it in 2 phases.... manali-sarchu, sarchu-leh. 11hrs each.
road conditions are bad but nothing to worry about.
will have limited access to internet, doing Leh-khardungla-nubra-panggong-leh in the nxt 2 days.
