Hey guys,

This thread was amazing !! I just finished reading all the 6 pages with all the humour in it. Yes - that picture of the plate of molaga bajjis is really mouth watering !! "Vaai oorardhu pa !!"

Anyway I am in, and am fine with either Sat or Sun. No probs.

Are there gonna be more guys on bikes or cars ? Madbullram has a picture of an amazing bike in his profile - am wondering whether that's an Avenger. Looks really good.

There is no special agenda I guess - just to meet up with fellow Chennai BHPians and hang out with bajjis

That motor boat shot at the lake was nice, but would we get to ride that boat ??

Yeah I seriously didn't know what sundakanji was. Maybe cos more than half my life has been overseas - kindergarten to 10th at Singapore, then 3 years in Melbourne, Australia for my MBA. Been here from 1993-2003 then 2006 Sept till now.

But i read that article and the last 3 lines are worrying:

"Doctors advise students not to take the drink as it leads to memory loss besides affecting the liver".

So I don't think I'd try it. In any case I don't drink so it's not gonna make any difference to me

Look forward to the meet and the molaga / muttai bajjis though .... it's been very long since I had them ... at least 5 years !! I'm amazed at Lancer&Shogun's speed in providing the link to that sundakanji article online !!

It was around the same as the above news report (July 2008), that all newspapers also carried the same article : i guess the resulting publicity pushed the "men in Khaki" into action, as a result of which this drink is no longer available in the mentioned beaches. After reading the newspaper article, I had enquired in the Besant nagar beach (I was more interested in the fried prawns that were supposedly served as side-dish

). I was told by some of the hawkers that there had been police raids, and nobody makes it nowadays.

But of course, there are lot of molga bajjis available in the beaches !
