Bangalore - MMST drive on 7th March morning for the P&P.

Mods, please dont merge this.

Having a separate thread helps a lot in co-ordinating with the various Bangalore boys regarding the time and the meeting place.

Anyway, the list is as below.

Iceman91
Siddharth
Nikhilb2008
manek
Vikram + 2
Psycho
V1p3r

These are the people who will be driving their cars.

raj.barcode will be tagging along with me I guess...

I say we leave earlier than 7:00 am. If you say 7:00 am, people will land up only by 8:00 and it will be too late. I'm sure we'll stop at A2B as well for breakfast.

My vote is this:

Meet up on Hosur Road, after the expressway and leave from there by 7:00 at the very latest. Let's meet up at 6:30 am.

Considering that we will take 5 hours to travel, plus at least a half hour break for breakfast, we'll reach by 12:30 or so.

Secondly, what about lunch? Do we have lunch somewhere on the highway or what? Because going into Madras, having lunch and coming back to MMST is pointless.

I have never driven all the way to Madras before, so you experienced guys please post here and correct me if I'm wrong.

EDIT: This is the plan.

Meet up at 6:30 am at the IOC petrol bunk at the end of the Hosure Road Elevated expressway.

There are lots of places around the track where you can grab a bite. I dont think that should be a problem.

Nikhil, I don't know of many places where you guys can get lunch near the race track. So be prepared to take parcels/ travel a bit more. There is a snack shop, but I didn't like the quality of food there.

This was all 1.5 yrs back. Not sure if any new restaurants have come up. Chennai guys can confirm on this.

I might come over on Sunday on my car, though I myself am not sure.

Guys, there is also a Chettinad restaurant just after the Bakery... Food is certainly not an issue. Have a safe drive!

Ya when are you guys returning ?

And Nikhil, I have done BLR-CHn many times and its easy as a breeze. In fact the 4 lanes was became boring after few kms, as hardly there was any footwork involved. My right leg was periodially working on the gas pedal to slow and accelerate, thats about it ! Excellent roads with good boulders on either sides of the road to avoid sudden pedestrian, cycle or cattle entry at all town points !

And as per my experience, with a spirited driving it might take between 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours depending on the driving pattern and traffic conditions and more importantly the starting timing. The earlier the better !

The plan that we guys normally stick to is as follows.

1. Meet up at Dakshin Honda by 6:00 - 6:30am
2. Have breakfast at A2B.
3. Reach Chennai by 11:30 - 12:00.
4. Grab a quick bite at Muscat Bakery which is very close to the track.
5. Hit the track by 1:00 - 1:30pm.
6. Thrash the cars around till either one (you or your car) gives up first.
7. Head back to Bangalore no later than 6:00pm. This is done to ensure that we reach Bangalore well before everything here shuts down. Refreshments after such a long day are a must for most of us.

We can stick to this if it suits everybody. Or at least until somebody has a better plan.

Cheers.

That sounds perfect.

I will not be coming back with you guys though. I plan on staying in Madras and leaving there after lunch at Moonrakers on Monday

So, let's freeze it.

Meet up at Dakshin Honda at 6:00 am.
