It was an awesome meet. Enjoyed the drive and the lake to the core. Keep the photos coming.

I reach Silkboard at 7AM. The moment I park my car, I see two more cars parking behind me and it was raghu230506 and Gandhi.Within minutes, one after other there was around 10 cars. We were all ready to leave the meeting point by 7:30am.

Reached the 2nd meeting point by 7:50am and no one was there. Dreamcatcher & inder was suppose to join from there. So, we call them and inform that we will wait while having the breakfast little ahead.

Thanks Amitoj, for joining us for the breakfast. Guy had some other work and hence left without making it to the lake.

Then it was Lukeskywalker along with Vaseem who arrived to the place. He joined us during the breakfast after picking patchyboy.

Sync-up meet after Baneerghatta road




We could not get the correct right turn after Baneerghatta and hence was exploring that stretch. Whats more fun than exploring the places rather than travel from A to B

And finally it turned out to be good. The access to the Thattekere from the Jigani Industrial estate side is good, and has double roads all through the entrance of the temple.

But after the entrance, it was kind of off-roading to reach the temple. But I am sure people had fun in those roads.

Those roads was fenced with high power solar fences. Heard that elephants frequent to these lake. But (un)luckily we did not spot any today.

The temple has ample parking spot for cars. Nice shades for lunch too, in case we pack our food and go there.

A small walk from the temple will get you to the lake. The lake is really scenic. Kids had good enjoyment playing in the water.

Oh, not to forget the 2 litre beast roaming around dirtying all our cars.

Wow! looks like the kids had their best time.
I had to miss this, as my son had some activities at his school. My son would have enjoyed it if we had made it to the meet. He likes playing in water a lot.
Sorry Mahesh for opting out at last minute. Will not miss next time.

The drive was pretty scenic and actually came in as quite a surprise. The road suddenly opened up to some very beautiful hilly windy roads.

Its around 35KMs from Silk board.

This is the route we took.

Silk Board Flyover, Bommanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India to Unknown road - Google Maps

Basically, its same as the one we take for the Pearl Valley.

Once you reach the Jigani Industrial estate from the Baneerghatta road, we will have a circle. We take the left to proceed to pearl valley. Take the right on this circle, and follow the double road till you see a arch on your left. It is marked as Mahadeswara temple arch. Take that left, and it leads straight to the temple & lake.

When in doubt check the locals - ask for Thattekere Mahadeswara temple.

One more land mark is Ramakrishna Mission in Shivanahalli near Thattekere.

Thattekere lake is in between the Harohalli & Anekal road. If coming from Kanakapura road, you take the left at Harohalli Junction. Continue in the same road till you find the arch to your right.

My Pictures are out.

Fantastic Journey, It really ended up with good choice for a location. We thoroughly enjoyed the Drive with all empty roads, many stopovers for directions, untouched beauty of the lake and above all the company of fellow BHPeans who made it in time for this pleasant experience.
