There are 3 blanks next to the AC High / Low and Vent recirculate mode switches. Could use these, with a similar switch.

I am not sure if that switch is going to be available, i inquired about it earlier and could not find anything that matches.

The needle goes upto the red mark that i've made, is this normal? |
I know this is an extremely late reply, why did you have the above sorted?
I had simlar issues in my previoud non Crde Scorpio, and the culprit turned out to be a kaput cut out, due to which the battery had run dry.
Turned out that a reasonably small setup automobile electrician could help me out with this through a breakdown around a small town, but the guys at Mahindra though everything was alrigvht just two days before the Scorpio broke down on me, the only time in five years and over a lac kms.
Did I mention that at that particular service I was charge for repaced this, and that for which the bill was a way over 20K. Lol, guys at all Mahindra workshops seem to be lazy, and least inclined if here isnt any revenue involved.
Currently I am facing a strangerattle from the underbody since about odo reading 9K, the guys at Milestone weren't too bothered about fixig iut at the second service. Hopefully they will be able to diagnose it at the third service (which I can't help waiting for), and mostly have it sorted too. Kepping my fingers crossed.

Your exhaust pipe might be loose. Put the vehicle up and shake the pipe. Dont just tighten it. Put anabond or mseal and then tighten it.

Seems that the switch is a single assembly and we cant use those 3 blanks.

Hi Friends,
I recently bought a used 2004 Model Scorpio (Turbo Dlx). Last weekend I did Wheel Balancing, Installed Bosch Wiper Blades and added Cooling water.
I did 150kms after the changes and had no issues, got a decent FE of 13.33 City.
Today morning when my brother took the vehicle after riding 15 kms all of a sudden Engine noise started increasing, vehicle started emitted heavy smoke, Engine heat was more than 60%. He proactively stopped the vehicle and parked it road side and turned OFF.
We called one of our T-bhpian (ganesh_bbr) who inspected the vehicle and found radiator was dry, he started the engine and when moved vehicle moved with high RPM and huge engine noise.
At last we towed the car back to home, as iam still in office could not take the vehicle to a Service Center.
What would have caused the Radiator to go dry ? Is this something a major issue, Iam bit worried because I just bought the vehicle.
Suggestions and Root cause please:

Check for coolant leakage. Hope that's not hammered away at your head gasket.
Yes my T-bhp mate did Ensure and there was no leakage in the Coolant.
It was probably running absolutely dry. Still, you added water I assume and it isn't very hot nowadays.
Was the ac switched on?
@Others
Customer care hasn't replied to me yet, anyone with any updates for the 3rd gear vibration solution?

Hi Bhargava, congrats on your Scorp! I too have bought a 2004 Dec Scorpio, with 78K on the Odo when I bought it in Oct 2009. It has now done 83K, and I am very happy with it thus far. Hope to post some pictures soon.
Hope your "radiator going dry" issue has been resolved. If not, please visit a good service centre at the earliest, as running the beast for long with high engine temperatures is the last thing you would want to do! Maybe there is a leak somewhere, which should be evident underneath your vehicle when parked with the coolant topped up.
How much did your Scorpio cost you? I paid 4.25L for mine. All the best!

Hi Friend,
My Beast costed 3.5L after exchange of 96 Esteem VX here in Bangalore.
Goodies - Leather Interiors, Dapic DVD VIDEO/ LCD Player, two Hollywood speakers, Coolant papers, Front Bumper, New Number Plates, Floor Mats, Insurance Valid till Dec 2010, Apollo Tyres done just 1000 kms, Odo-67422 kms wen i got it, Its now 68000.
Regarding the Radiator Issue - I still did not get time to take it to a SS
However I bought 3l of coolant and mixed with 2L of water and added last weekend and did just 150kms and when parked at home there was no leakage found. Once My brother drove 20kms issue started. Not sure if there is any internal leakage.
I am praying God to not to end up with major issues. :Frustrati

I never thought i am here.
Initially when Bhargav's bro called me, i did not have anything in mind and took my friends TATA ACE, tyre and ropes to toe the car back to home.
The heating issue is really wired. After i inspected the scorp, found the radiator coolant level very low. Then filled 2 liters of water including the additional coolant container. The level in the container was above MAX - indication. However when i drove back the scorp for around 20 Kms in low speed and checked after that the level was reduced till MIN - level.
Noticed only a drop of coolant was leaking in one of the hose, but this should not make the level this less.
Lets hope there is no bigger problems in the scorp. I believe the scorp is going for a checkup in the first day of the year 2010.
Hi Friends Happy new Year
I took my Scorp to a diesel mechanic and he found that the Radiator Hose was loosen and he tightened it, Did a Coolant Top up and everything is fine now.

That was simple. Good that it did not create bigger problems.
Enjoy your ride.:D
