How did it cost you in total for these? And how is the service quality of Mira R&D centre. I've similar problems with brakes screams, suspension n steering noises.

Got a 7500 km "inspection" done last week.
Cost me 188 for the engine oil topup. No other charges.

B.U. Bhandari workshop @Wakad, Pune is spacious, and I like it that way. The car was ready on time as promised.

Wakad is way out of the city for me, but I don't mind if I need to visit it once or twice a year.

Now the real test will come when I go in for 15k service.. then we will see....

My aunt bought a GT TSI (because of me) and she's looking around to give it for first service. She doesn't know a thing about cars and doesn't even know where the dealership is located. My uncle bought the car but he is currently in US and won't be back for a 2 months. Is it okay to wait for two months? The cat has gone a shade above 1000 km and is 2 months old. Any advice?

The first check up for VW cars is at 6 months or 7500km( just a check up, this is not a service) and the first service is only after 1 year/15k km. VW does not have the typical 1 month, 3 month service stuff. So you have plenty of time.

Since your aunt had no clue about the details of the car , would be a good idea to get the manual from your aunt and do a quick read. You will be in a better position to give the right inputs.

Including service the total bill was 28k. The good part about this workshop is that it is not crowded and does not have too may customers so you and your car get the required attention and work is done quickly. The service advisor is prompt in receiving your calls and giving updates whenever required. Overall, I was very content with the service received.

His Polo has crossed 1.75L km with no major issues to report:



He swears by the Mobil Delvac 1 engine oil.

Wow...and I was feeling happy my Vento crossed the 78,000 mark! :D

Anyway, one good thing is that the services are NOT getting progressively more expensive. My 5 year/75,000 km one cost just under 8,000/-

I recently noticed the floor of the boot of my Polo getting warm from the exhaust. Do any one of you face a similar problem?

I have never noticed this in 3+ years of ownership of polo.

can you share more details?
Like for example, after how many kms of driving does it get warm?
Is your car diesel or petrol?
Do you hear anything unnatural in the exhaust note (the exhaust might have been ruptured leading to hot gases heating up the under body of the boot? Just a wild guess. stupid:)

I checked my polo after an 18km drive. The left side boot floor was warmer than the right side. In fact the right side was cold since it was night time. Mine is a 1.5 TDI.

My car is a GT TDi. The exhaust note is normal and there is not soot buildup around the exhaust area that might indicate leakage. I think from the clarifications below it seems to be a normal occurence.

The left side of the spare wheel well become relatively hot, you can still touch it but more that a few minutes becomes uncomfortable not unbearable.

I also noticed that the carpet portion over the base board is is still cool to touch while the carpet that directly touches the wheel well becomes warm.

All my cars so far except the GT have had rubber boot mats. I assume this may be why it never was an issue in the other cars. Thinking of getting a similar mat for the GT as well.

A team bhp fan following this thread did check it out on his GT and also mentioned that the left side of the wheel well does get hot. So I guess it is a normal phenomenon. Was worried that it might be some problem. But I feel VW should have been good enough to provide boot mats so that the heat does not get through.

I will double check this on my car and confirm if this happens in petrol also. I have not lifted the carpet and checked though like you mentioned. :thumbs up

I have never noticed a warm area in any car, over the exhaust --- but I never looked! It wouldn't surprise me, as exhaust gasses are hot, so, inevitably, the exhaust pipe is a source of heat. If there are no leaks (there need not be soot) then there is no problem, unless you want to transport ice cream on that side!

(and I keep a thermocol box in the car boot for carrying butter and other must-be-cool items home from the shops)

My 18 month Polo has her 45000 km service around the corner. Can anyone who has recently serviced their car shed some light on whether the service centres are doing anything to address the problem regarding the emission scandal?

I own a 2013 GT TDi 1.6 L .Unfortunately due to work requirements I am away and my parents use my car. It recently had issues with the suspension bushes - they had worn out. We took it to the service centre, they agreed to change the suspension bushes but they also said they would need to change the steering rack. They agreed to change it under extended warranty. All went fine, at least that's what I thought.

After we got the car back from the service centre, it started having vibrations. My brother took it to the service centre again, but this time the advisor first resisted accepting the issue. We had to explain it to him that this never happened before and it started after they changed the steering rack. Finally they accepted the issue and agreed to change the steering column under warranty.

It took around a week to get the part and another 3-4 days for it to be fitted. My brother got the car yesterday and he said the issue has been resolved and there are no vibration.

When this issue occurred, I tried to search it over here to see if anyone else had faced it. But yesterday I saw a few posts in the Vento official review thread.
