Last 2 months, I haven't done the waxing on my Linea. I got a Turtle Super Hard Shell Liquid Wax 2 months back & decided to use it today. It took me 2.5 hours but the results are much much better than Formula 1 Carnauba wax I am using.
Let the pics do the talking. First few pics show difference in shining of the area which is waxed v/s the area which is not waxed yet. |
OMG! That's simply superb man, Seems like your car was lacking vitamin W (wax)lol:on its paint. Where did you buy the wax from? Cost?

a good WAX will never dry according to me
also does a Hard Wax Protect better than a Liquid ? most users seem after shine forgetting that maintain priority of waxing to protect the paint layer. |
The wax doesn't dry, Its only hazes telling you that the wax is ready to remove, Automobile waxes are not just pure waxes, They have additional substances like synthetic polymers and very very mild abrasives.

Hey Switch,
With regard to overspray "bumps" on the surface of your paint the best and fastest solution it to clay the entire car...windows too. Claying only removes the bumps and makes the paint surface smooooooth as silk. Polishing alone may not remove all the bumps also polishing to remove over spray unnecessarly affects the paint finish. If you tried to remove the overspray by just hand polishing...it could take you weeks...claying an entire car will take less than a hour and will be perfect when done.
After the car is clayed you can polish, if necessary, and then use a high quality automotive paint sealant for 6-8 month protection. Regular wax, Turtle, Formula etc in the real world are effective only for weeks not months. I would use a sealant especially since you have wicked weather which takes its toll very fast on ordinary wax.
May be I can post a how to with a few photos. Very simple process and designed specifically for over spray on vehicles. |
Karl, Isn't claying meant to remove loose surface impurities like stuck tar or to remove dirt off a neglected car, I doubt claying can remove the spray from his furniture shop. All he needs is a rubbing job from a professional.
Does anyone know where I might be able to find automotive clay in India? My stock of Meguiar's is on it's last bar and I'd like to find some more before this runs out.
@akshay : Claying does remove overspray bumps. It is magical how the thing works.

I got it from opera house, Mumbai. Looks to be genuine
Bought ArmorAll Dashboard, Plastic & Vinyl UV Protector Gel from Reliance Autozone.
It can be used for Interiors & Exterior Plastic Mouldings also, i used it on the Dashboard, gives a very good shine.
Will post the picture of the bottle by tomorrow.
Has anybody used it before ? Feedbacks awaited.
^^^ Haven't used that product of Armour ALL, but have used their liquid polish/wax. Absolute waste of money. So if you like the dashboard protector, just don't stretch your luck and try the polish/wax... lol!
For the dashboard, I use F1, and fairly happy with it.

I used this ArmorAll Dashboard, Plastic & Vinyl UV Protector Gel. It came free with some auto accessories. It was more like a cream. Initially it gave some shine but it was sticky and was attracting dust. I wiped out. I used this a year ago. Not sure if they have changed the product.
If you want to try something for dash board try F1 or Amway Leather and Vinyl cleaner(I use it)

Think they have improved it, now it is not like any cream it is more in a liquid form, the gel was not sticky & till now it had not attracted any dust, shine was also very good, i used it on the dashboard of my M-800.
Heard good things about the Amway Leather & Vinyl Cleaner but, for the F1, i have heard that there are many fakes available in the market.
^^^ I believe F1 fakes are mostly of the carnuba wax tin. Not heard of fakes of the dashboard cleaner... but goes without saying, its possible. Just get it from a know, reputed shop, and make sure you emphasize to the shopkeeper that you will return it if found fake. I have a bottle of Amway's Leather & Vinyl cleaner. Not good. F1 is much better and has a nice fragrance.
I just ordered a bunch of Abel Auto products from Xenos Bangalore. Glass Cleaner/Cockpit Cleaner/Universal Cleaner/Liquid Wax/Car Shampoo/Scratch Remover.
While talking to the salesman, he mentioned that Xenos has officially tied up with Turtle Wax and products will be available in 2-3 weeks time.
Thats good news Vasu... i am looking Turtle Wax from long...
Cheers !!

Have been using Armor ALL dashboard GEL on the dash for Indica, Magnum & Safari 3.0.
Over the past year of usage experience has taught me to apply the gel evenly over the coverage area and leave it overnight.
In fact the instructions overleaf the bottle mention so, to get dark shine to the dash and the effect is really good as well.
The results have been satisfactory from the same product bought in the US & here in India as well.:)

Yes, you are right buddy, the instructions on the bottle states the same.
Thanks for the feedback :)
I have seen the interior cleaning persons, who cleans all vinyl pads, floor matts, roof upholstery, dashboards with the solutions and charge for about Rs.500- 700 , but as DIY method i have cleaned the dashboard, floor mats, door pads with liquid soap solutions, and then polish it with Waxpol.
cleaned carpets with vaccum cleaner, but i could not get the best result when it comes to roof cleaning, they are doing it with just a cloth and an solution, once wiped off, it looks white and bright. But i am not able to achieve even 20% of their result on it. What solution do they use? and Is there any other method which can be DIY, Please help. Since the roof is pending work, and still looks smoky. please:
try while kerosene, it always works.
i clean my car roof with a cloth dipped in water and shampoo solution . all the dirt is soaked by the cloth and roof is clean. you just have to rub hard to get good results..
