Guys i still haven't found a replacement set of rear view mirrors, the spare ones that are specifically available for this model are really inferior quality!!!

The mirrors are mounted on the doors [The bolt holes are indicated in the yellow circle!] as opposed to the new designs which have them sprouting off the corner of the a-pillar on the door, any replacement suggestions????

Which means this shares the mirror design with the Omni? You may not get classy mirrors if that is the case but you shouldn't have difficulty in finding an appropriate replacement.

It doesn't share the mirror design, just the mounting is the same, the Omini has a massive tall rectangular mirror which is very truck like and the 800 has a tiny one!!! I need to find a replacement soon or will have to get the useless ones back!!

The ball joint on the useless ones just disintegrates!!!

Edmund dude! That is Horrendous man, what were you thinking... no just kidding.

You have demonstrated the beauty of simplicity! Absolutly miraculus conversion of a piece of metal if I may call it.

Umm I think I pretty much read every comment on this 21 odd page thread... here is my 2 cents... i know you want to keep the simple look but may be you can change the tail lights and the bumpers i think that will make the back more apealing.

I wonder why I never saw this thread before

Edmund, I was looking at your 800's rear view and a thought struck me; have you considered getting a body coloured rear bumper made that instead of the current 3-4 inches of thickness, streches right up to the tailpipe. I visualised that and it seemed to look better that way.

hmmmm interesting idea prabuddhadg ,

but personally i love the way the rear of the car looks , besides a body coloured bumper which kinda moulds itself to the lines of the car
(thats what you meant right ?) i think will take away from the awesome character of the lines of the car's original design which i think is pretty darn close to flawless!

In fact I have always liked the way the old 800 looked. The idea just came to me now after all these years, and I think it might look nice. Anyway, its just because different people like different shapes that cars come in so many varieties.
