re: Car jerking while accelerating

I am so sorry!! I completely misunderstood the caption on the OP. and guesstimated what in the world Adya means by "Jerking while accelerating"!!!
Pun aside, please get your accelerator cable checked. It could be a case of the cable being worn out.Had this problem in my Wagon R and got it rectified after a simple change of the cable.

Same here. I was thinking: accelerating while jerking would have been more apt

On a serious note, this could well be due to clogging of spark plugs or fuel injectors.

Not really. For the last year or so its been the IOCL outlet on the eway.
Now that you guys pointed it out, the topic is hilarious!

Re: Car jerking while accelerating

Sorry to rake up an old thread but thought would be worth sharing.
Was struggling with this phenomenon in my Qualis. It started about 8-10 months back. We don't use it much and usually only when we have to move some large items or when our other cars are not at home. It's 24 years old this month and would jerk at mid range speeds of about 20-60kmph. I got the engine de-carbonized and also added 2T oil with diesel etc. No impact. I had a puncture this week and on taking it to the puncture guy he told me the tyre is breaking and needs change. I swapped all 4 Michelin XM2 from 2017 with Goodyear Kelly and went for a test drive. The jerking has disappeared. The car gets used a couple of times a month and this could be the reason for the cracks and maybe it's structural weakness leading to the jerks.
