Damn, did not think of that, will look into it immediately.

Edit: went immediately to a stationery shop and got the tape and taped the connector.

OMG..Hope it does not happen once I have my XUV.. considering I would be parking in my office MLCP. Just thinking how it would be if something like this happens when the vehicle is parked on the 2nd or 3rd floor or higher..

Staionary shop? Are you using a cello tape or a electrical insulation tape?

I got the green insulation tape. :)

Went to the service center as I had a few other issues also to take care of like the driver seat had some play when taking a hard turn which was disconcerting. Also the power steering oil was leaking from its reservoir.

They changed the puddle lamp under warranty, the seat was tightened & the excess oil was sucked out.:thumbs up

I was ready with everything when i purchased the XUV:D.

One more niggle in my XUV the remote for lock/unlock has a mind of its own. many times i have to press the lock/unlock buttons 3 to 4 times for it to work even when i am standing next to the XUV.

Not able to identify most of them. Can you please list the items in your emergency kit and their costs?

Edit: sorry ..picked up the names from your thread.
3 ton hydraulic jack, electric tape, 2 way gum, spare tubeless tire neck, lighter, electric tape, tire pressure gauge, electric air compressor and tubeless tire puncture repair kit.

Yea my honeymoon period is over too. Standing on the middle of a road waiting for recovery vehicle right now because of clutch failure. I am also coming back from Connaught place :-)

I have seen a vehicle in Sireesh Workshop with the whole transmission assembly opened and clutch plate removed. When asked RM told the clutch was failed on that car. So this is not one off case I think.

One question: I want to change the speakers to something better sounding in my XUV. Will that void the warrenty if I do it without cutting any of the wires?

Yes I confirm that here at Sri Durga they are replacing 5 to 6 clutch assemblies each day. It includes the whole clutch assembly including clutch plate pressure plates master cylinder etc.
I dont think you would be voiding any warranty if you change the speakers.

I dont fully agree. I drove my Scorpio for 50 odd thousand kms before selling it on to my friend. My clutch was in perfect shape. It still is and he has done another 7 odd k kms in the last 6 months!

Be sure that M&M whatever their faults and misguided faith in launching the XUV in a hurry, they are an extremely ethical bunch of people there and they will most certainly hear you and look after you.
Please take the trouble to visit their regional office in Raheja Tower on Museum Road and meet their Regional guys if you have to. They will certainly help. But be polite and dont start ranting there. Also get onto twitter and all of you tweet like the blazes. You will get heard by the big man himself.

This happened twice with me for the driver side door! The lamp cost some Rs 360/- This I think happens because it fouls with the scuff plates if you have installed any.

Hi Shankar, for me it is by experience in my own and 2 more Scorpios belonging to friends who bought it at almost the same time.

Alternatively my cousins old gen Scorpio still runs perfectly even afte completing a lac kms.

Are they doing it for all vehicles coming in for routine service or only for the one's failed on road? If they are doing for only failed cases, it is a bad user experience. Imagine a situation you and family get stuck up at an express highway with a fried clutch wondering how to move it to a safe place at least. If there is a problem, as a true Indian manufacturer, M&M should be bold enough to call back the vehicles and get it replaced asap. They should understand that there are lot many lives can be at risk by not doing so.

Currently M&M is not seeing all of these niggles / issues eating up into their market share. But that would happen soon if the issues are not resolved immediately. Also may see the used car market going to get dumped with XUVs at dirt cheap, which will eventually affect the new car sales if they don't resolve the issues on time. A good smile nice class room trained words with hot tea /coffee at dealership will only help to cool down customers for a while. Ultimately the product quality is what matters to the people who spend their hard earned money on it.
