My OEM battery exide lasted for good 7 years in my 98 zen carb.I replaced for just the heck of it.Next i again went for exide which surprisingly lasted for only 3 years. Moreover the cage that held the battery decided to give away one day due to corrosion, thanks to the leaking acid:Frustrati.Currently running on amaron and must say never felt my car cranking so happillyclap:.

^^^ The effect of higher CCA, I reckon... :)

I say the Amaron battery is the best as per my experience. Had many bad experiences with the exide batteries for the new honda city 04/05. very bad warranty precedures too.

Hi All,

Yesterday got my Palio back from regular service, glad to know my 5.5 year old stalk batery is still healthy. My curiosity made me enquire the price of new battery in TATA motors, they quoted 7K . DIN 50 is that costly? My first preference is Amaron if not Bosch, any update on the latest prices please:.

Jacs,

If you buy Bosch or Delco for that matter you will still get Amaron, as they manufacture for both brands and label them accordingly.

No. Higher CCA is not beneficial for our usage & climate. The battery is new, and there may be a slight increase in the AH rating of the new battery.

agree:Quite possible but never found such performance with the exide when it was brand new.

Well guys,
I had buyed a Tata green battery for my Indica and credits to those Tata engineers that the battery failed in just 1 Year after the purchase, The Tata green SC guy told me that 2 cells of the battery were dead and unfortunately i lost my warranty card and bill during that one year span so, I had to buy a new battery for some 4000rs. and now i am running on Exide and it never gave me any problem since then.

Higher than what? It seems Exide's CCA are below the optimal/desirable. And maybe Amaron has what is optimal. While the second part of what you say can be true, rakesh has answered it...

I guess its time to add a poll to this as well. Wot Say??:)

I just came back after two weeks of vacation and the stock model bosch battery started car in first crank. what a different feeling it was after the last days i had with amaron/amaron service

Definitelyagree:,as it will help fellow members to decide which one to go for.

Where can i see the battery manufactuing date ? Is there any code like the one in tyre to identify the month and year of Manufacture

My take on OEM batteries is proving correct. While checking the engine bay of my Bolero, found acid marks on the battery tray. Seems that the OEM Amaron is leaking.

Was Amaron all the way for me but thats a sore point. How old is your battery?Since your Bolero is new that may be not more than a year old??

If your's is a new vehicle,i guess you could ask for a replacement, citing leakage as the reason?
