I need to change my Petrol Swift battery. Manual says battery specification is 38B20. Yesterday i noticed Bosch Silver 12V35AH battery for 3900 with 300 exchange.

My question: Is 38B20 = 35AH? or 38AH?

35AH is 38B20. I recently installed it in my Wagon R. Same battery goes in Swift, with different polarity (left vs right). It is an excellent battery. I got it for 3300 after exchanging dead Amaron.

Here is what is mentioned in Baleno's owner manual

Battery

38B20L (28AH/5HR)

so is it 35 AH or 28 AH.

I have also found the batteries to be of two types, 3 year back amaron maintenance free was bought for Rs 3200 and recently one of my relatives bought Exide champion at Rs 2100 for same capacity though it was not mainenance free. Is there a lot of difference in lifespan for the two?

My experience with Exide is bad. The battery went dead exactly after two days of the warranty expiry.

Amaron gives good service for long periods. The best battery service I ever got is MOTORCRAFT in one of my cars(FORD IKON 1.6)- good period of 4 years and did not give up suddenlty, but slowly after 4 years!! I guess Motorcraft is imported by and for FORD. I did try to source it outside without much luck, though 4 years back!

I hope my exide will then definitely last till the last day of warranty period as i hear all conking of exactly at the end of this period

Guys,
I need to change my Elantra CRDi battery.
I called up Bosch Dealer in BLR and he says Bosch does not make one for Elantra.
The Amaron Webpage is not loading since morning.
Can anyone of you let me know where I Can buy Amaron Batteries in Bangalore South? I am not sure if I will get one for Elantra.
What other options do I have for Elantra?

Where can I find Optima range of batteries in BLR?
Googling also dis not help.

I have been using a Cummins Shakti VRLA battery on Hariya and am completely satisfied with it. It is lighter, yet has more power, smaller, yet is of a much better technology and manufacturing pedigree than any other brand in the Indian market.

I have the Cummins distributor's number. Anyone who needs it can PM me if they want to.

Why don't you call their toll-free number or any other number? You could also consider AC Delco, Base Terminal.

My friend needs to buy a new battery for his Lancer (petrol). How good are AC Delco / Cummins batteries? Do either of them make battery suited for Lancer (35 Ah) ?

Our original plan was to go with Amaron, but I want to check out other better options, if any.

^^^Better or worse than Amaron, I know not, but as you can see from other tbhpian's posts, they are also good options. Consider the price and warranty. Just go for anything based on that except Exide and Amco, and you can't go terribly wrong. :)

Maruti SX4 ZXi_model year Oct/2007 came with Exide Freedom 38B20L Battery. The car would'nt crank in the morning on 25th Dec 2010. The battery store guy said that one cell had gone dead.

Replaced with Amaron FLO 42B20L
Pkd 10/10
Net Wt 10.3 Kg
Warranty 24 + 24 months
MRP INR 4105/-
Selling Price after Discount and Exchange INR 3300/- (with home delivery and installation)

Hello,
For your vehicle I would prefer EXIDE, but for inverter Use EXIDE INDUSTRIAL Range batteries having 60 months replacement warranty. You can also choose an inverter from LUMINOUS and their Package batteries as well, with 48 months warranty. I hav been using since 2005 trouble free.

Amaron
I have been using it in esteem and OHC with no issue at all.
