Based on your car the note can differ. So do u mind telling me your ride so I could share my inputs.
Well, I need the input specific to a Palio 1.6 / S10. Don't own one now, but my gut feeling is that I may set my heart on one. Every time I come across one of these threads, I just can't refuse to love these.

The palio S10 is a totally different animal and its one machine which you can give you immense fun if you are a petrol-head. Getting a good one is the biggest challenge. The prices for a good S10 have skyrocketed and the lame ones are being picked up. Start your hunt and see if someone is ready to part with it and i would be glad to furnish you with all the info i have to give it extra wings.

Little over 86000 kms on the odo now and he's doing great.

Got the wheels balanced and aligned at tyre care Coimbatore. Also changed the air filter. Got an after market equivalent from dhanam. A Thailand make and quality feels excellent. Much better than oe filter. Yet to drive after the change, but I'm not expecting any magic either.

The interiors are in pipeline. Not sure when I will be able to start work. Fingers crossed.

Here is the list of work done since I got the car and the cost incurred. Have spent a good 75k over 1 year which includes tyres, battery, ffe and others.

Got the underbody treatment done at 3M car care Coimbatore yesterday. Pretty good experience.

After availing services at 3M in nungambakkam, omr and once in Pune, would still rate nungambakkam as the best one followed by the Coimbatore one.
Opted for the thicker rubberized quote. Pretty happy and satisfied with the service and workmanship.

Exhaust, fuel tank and engine area neatly masked before starting work.

Hi H14,

It was nice to meet you and your S10 at 3M the other day. It was great to see the car in person , beautifully maintained.

Glad that you sparco'd the seats.

By the way, I noticed the sweet notes of the exhaust when you left the place

I have been using the same filter since 2006 in mine (NV 1.2 Sport). Didn't notice much difference with OE when I replaced it first.

BTW, since my car is about 10 years young ( ), I too have had similar repairs / replacements. I replaced the entire booster assembly recently - got the TVS Girling (9,800 bucks). I chanced upon the endcan of S10 (it was made of stainless steel) to replace mine. It wasn't a direct fit - some welding had to be done. But the changes could be felt immediately. FFO should be orchestra on your S10!

Apart from some repairs at Carnation (Chembur, Mumbai) where I felt there was some overcharging (I have posted in Carnation review thread), the rates appear to be at par.

Having spent a small fortune on the repairs, I tanked up with Shell Superunleaded. After crossing 100+ kms throttle response is great (redlined it for the first time, and it felt there was some more power left)... guess your S10 may love fuel after all the above attention!

Got the drive Shaft boot replaced. Identified that the boot was gone when it was ramped up during the underchassis treatment at 3M.

The part was available at Dhanam.

Re: Blessed with a Palio S10! Refurbished it too

Got the ecu scanned using trial version of Alfa OBD. Only few options available in the trial version. It also displayed my ecu as 1.2

Here are the results:

Re: Blessed with a Palio S10! Refurbished it too

Actually, its quite straight forward to use the FiatECUScan software if you have a small tablet/laptop. Will definitely give you more accurate results.
Its available as a free download and can be used free of charge as well. only drawback with it is that you can use it continuously for 20 minutes at a time and allows you to view 4 parameters at a time.

Consider that this is recognizing your engine as 1.2, i don't think you should be trusting any values or error codes as they could mean something else entirely on the actual 1.2 engine/ECU combo.

Agree lucifer. Just tried this out. Problem is that I don't have a Windows laptop and hence stuck to the Android app

I just have a wild thought that maybe the ecu on my car might have been changed by one of the previous owners? Just a guess since most of the 1.6 I've see to have the programing year as 2002 while mine shows as 2001.
