Re: the Ikon.. bad brakes

I too was worried about the braking of our Ikon (it's a ten year old car which had hardly touched 40k), but after replacing the brake fluid and replacing the brake pads, the performance has improved noticeably. Next time I get the chance (most likely after the rains), I shall try and get the lines fixed too.

Thanks, as a first step, he could try tightening the vacuum lines, he has gone through the fluids/pads/rotors routine with the service center.

Still looking for a solution in the aftermarket space.

Don't remember the exact brand. One workshop near my hometown suggested it, as they know the breaks in ikon is very bad. They told me they have used it in many ikons. Also they had the stock of it. Now I sold my ikon 6 months back and using fiesta now. A reputed workshop which services ford cars can help you in this regard.

Experts please comment.

Can we replace the disks, calipers and pads in an Ikon with the ones in a Fiesta for better breaking.

You can but it is not recommended as you will not have a person who can do a complete job. Brakes are too crucial to be left to an FNG. I can send you the fiesta manual and ikon manual , you should be able to figure it out.
