Again the center vents are not working. There is minimal air blow from the vent. The corner 2 vents work perfectly and cooling seems to be good enough as well. Last year the coil was also replaced.

Can someone suggest what could be the issue and how do i get it rectified once and for all?
Regarding the issue the best place to find out would be the FNG where you're getting the problem fixed even if temporarily. Ask them about the issue and what they're doing to fix it. AFAIK if the AC cabin filter is installed, there should be no coil blockage happening. Plus even if the Filter or Coil does get blocked, it would obstruct the airflow in all 4 vents.

What my assumption is, because yours is a highline model, the blower diverter is motorized and that is what might be causing the issue, an incomplete switch over from one zone to the other. Second might be the motorized diverter which controls the air mix cold and Normal air which gets into action once the cabin starts nearing the selected temperature.

Do a small test for me. Put your AC on auto, blowers should be on the dashboard vents selection, turn the temperature all the way to LO, observe and then all the way to HI., Let me know if either of these extreme ends of temperature selection makes the issue go away. If it does, I'll mostly be able to isolate the problem causing area.

Do one more test small test after this. Change vent selection to Leg side only, dash and leg side combined and see if the air feels obstructed in any of these modes or only the dash air vents mode. While switching these modes, see if you hear a slight creaking sound or something that might suggest an extra effort on the motor or some kind of sound that suggests the vent selector is not able to move freely

@Racer111

Thanks for your response and sorry for the delay from my end in responding. Well i tried all the actions you mentioned but i couldnt observe any difference in the current state of blowers or AC. My vento was anyways due for full service so i got it fixed again along with that. Spoke to the mechanic working on my vento and he said that "auto adjuster" is what brings this issue in again and again. Motor in itself is working fine but sometimes adjuster gets stuck at one point during rotation.

If dashboard has to be opened to fix it back in place, the dashboard opening charged comes to around 2500 bucks though fixing itself isnt a big deal and not chargeable. If without opening the dashboard mechanic is able to reach out to the adjuster, the fixing costs 250 bucks, which is what i paid this time.

@Racer9111

Thanks for your detailed response and sorry for delay from my end in reverting back. Well i spoke to the mechanic and the issue seems to be with something they call the "adjuster" behind the blowers. Everything being motorised, sometimes it gets stuck in one direction (not facing the vent) and hence the issue creeps in repeatedly. The motor though works fine.

The fix requires them to reach out to the adjuster by hand. If it requires them to open the dashboard it may cost around 2500 bucks to open the dashboard. If they are able to access the adjuster without opening the dashboard it costs 250 bucks.

This time they were able to do it without opening the dashboard so thankfully the issue is fixed now.

What an irony though. Called Vento and facing issues with Vents itself :-)

Re: A case of unreliable Volkswagen Ventos (2010 - 2012)

Hello guys,

Looks like my fears have come to pass on my 2013 TDI Vento.

The dreaded coil and MIL lights lit up last night on my way back home.

Fearing a problem with the injectors i have ordered an OBD scanner to check the fault before taking the car to the service center.

I have also read about the injectors being repaired and or restored successfully in Bangalore.

Can anyone please suggest a reliable FNG in Chennai who is trustworthy knowledgeable and will do this.

Need feedback urgently please.

Thanks in advance.

It could be a blocked EGR too. Either way take it to a VW expert FNG. Do let us know how things pan out.

In Chennai, I personally go to Jai Prakash in Perambur. He hasn't disappointed me in any way so far. Found his contact here in TBHP

@Turbohead & @ninjatalli Went to see Mr Jai Prakash earlier today and he diagnosed the issue to be 3 ABS sensors with intermittent signals that were giving various speeds to the module and ECU that cause the jerking with the engine. 3 sensors replaced and all is well. Total bill incl labour was Rs 11400/-. (3300x3nos = 9900 + 1500 labour)

Breathe a sigh of relief knowing it wasn't the injectors. The gentleman is a nice chap, very patient and explains all details requested. I've taken a liking to him and most likely will go back to him for the next routine service or any other issue.

Thank you guys for the recommendation.
