Re: Replacement battery for Maruti's SHVS cars?

My observations on Ciaz Alpha Diesel SMART HYBRID 2019 model year. Auto start stop doesn't work with battery less than 70Ah. During second hand purchase, dealer fitted 45Ah battery except auto start stop all other function was working. Only after replacing brand new Exide mileage 70Ah, it had started to function.

Functionality, auto start stop activates only after you stop the car and put in NEUTRAL. If you keep it in first gear and have foot on clutch, it doesn't activate. Car starts if you press the clutch again and put gear. AC is running with auto start stop. But car starts automatically after say 1 minute or 90 seconds even if I haven't pressed the clutch. This might be due to the fact that ac is running ? Not sure!

Re: Replacement battery for Maruti's SHVS cars?

So my Auto start stop orange light has been blinking since yesterday. The car is now 4 years and 1 month to the date and seems fine otherwise. Anyways took it to a local batterywala who confirmed that the battery is due for replacement.

Exide Mileage, DIN70 ISS is the manufacturer recommended replacement and costs Rs 8,700 without exchange. There seems to be abundant stock.

70ah Amaron costs a bit more, but going forward with the Exide purely because of the ISS sticker on it

Re: Replacement battery for Maruti's SHVS cars?

I drive Vitara Brezza A/T ZXi+ BS6 2021 model Petrol. Very recently on my way back from Kerala suddenly, the Idle Start / Stop deactivation lights started to blink, immaterial of deactivation S/w position. Upon checking the manual, it mentions that there is some problem in the Smart Hybrid system. During deceleration or braking, the Li-ion battery wasn't charging. Checked with Service manager over the phone, he said it could be the problem with the main lead acid battery.
I have no issues with cold start or other issues.
But I was told that the Exide Con servo battery has lost the required power for ISS. The battery is ISS N55 Exide conservo(45AH) which is not in market, but its equivalent is available as mileage.
What I tried, I disconnected the battery, topped up some distilled water & put it to charge for about 8-12 hours.
Reconnected the battery & the system is fine & working for the past 2 days. Not sure how long this would sustain. Just try this option if you can delay the buying of new battery.
