I think Bharat Petroluem have stopped selling Speed 93 after they launched Speed 97. The bunks I pass through in Madras have either Speed or Speed 97.

I have never tried Speed 93 on my Palio 1.6. And now with Speed 97 priced at Rs.60, I dont intend to try it either. I fill my car only with Power which is priced at Rs.48.56. The difference between power and speed 97 comes to Rs.11.44, which is too much for any increase in performance or mileage by using Speed 97. Currently my car returns a minimum mileage of 8.5 to 9 kmpl.

hey, 5u3zEr0, I suggest you put speed 91. Its not that costly and is better than Power.

last time i filled up my accent i asked for 93octane and the staff at the pump told me that 93 octane is no longer available in delhi only 97 octane is available priced at Rs.60 per litre(too expensive for a person used to driving a indica),and i felt that 97octane fuel is too good for my dumbo accent and tanked up with 87octane haha.

I had tried Shell's SUPER UNLEADED in my swift and for sure the FE increased by 1KMPL over all other 91 octane fuel's. Heard from the salesman that Octane value is 92. Moreover the engine feels more responsive than it is for all other fuels.
The problems i am facing is that the engine is not as smooth as it was for XTRAPREMIUM and cold start takes 4-5 pulls. Suspecting my car, to check i switched back XtraPremium, immediately the car was silky smooth and the very next morning engine would fire up in one pull.

Expert's please advise whether it is wise to stick to SUPER UNLEADED from shell?

The best part is that i like SUPER UNLEADED's response and XtraPremium's smoothness.
Is there any way i can get both, by adding some additive or so to SUPER UNLEADED.

Been running my CRV 2.0 on regular Speed.

After reading the thread, I am super confused!

Think I should write to Honda...

Is this true even after the recent price hike? Normal Speed is now 4 bucks more expensive than regular. So does it still make sense to use that?
