I somehow feel my car's idling at a lower rpm. Maybe around 600-700. Doesn't seem right, according to some of the posts above. I'll get it checked in the next service.

1) What could be the issue when you press the accelerator but the car does not respond and then after a fraction of a second the power is delivered. Happens once in a while.

2) I also get violent jerks from the car when i start from 1st gear sometimes and to negate this, i have to keep the revving at around 3k and slowly release the clutch.

When i start the car for the 1st time in the day, i first wait for the CEL to go off and then i crank it and let it idle for around 2 mins. I generally find this issue when i do the above and drive to the nearest panwalla for a smoke. I restart the car in around 5 - 10 mins and then the jerks happen but not always.

What all would i need to check / clean / service?

Using an aftermarket intake? Probably has something to do with intake reversion and/or no intake velocity

Usual problems with most VTECs. I'm using a standalone ECU so I don't face this problem.

Regardless of the issues above. Check the idle air control valve (on the throttle body), steering rack. If you have money to spare, change the ignition coil before it goes kaput and leaves you at the side of the road. Same with the fuel pump. You can drive with a leaking steering rack, a bad IACV and most other problems, but the 2 things above will leave you stranded at the side of the road while you curse your car.

Thanks Pranav, that call from me to you is long pending, just getting stuck with lot of personal stuff over the weekends. But will definitely get the car inspected by you before i go for any parts replacement or any changes.

Is the IACV a small screw type setting which can be done after removing the air filter, if yes then this was tweaked once to get a bit of high RPMs as the car was stalling.

No. The IACV is at the front of the throttle body.

It can't be adjusted. It's a PWM device controlled directly by the ECU. It usually gets clogged due to years of operation. Needs to be removed and cleaned thoroughly with carb cleaner. Those can be bought at any auto parts store, they usually know it by "carb spray"

I'm facing jerking issues with my Vtec 2003 model done approx 55K. Since it's 2003 Vtec then ECU shouldn't be a problem. Jerks are happening mostly at around 1300 to 2000 RPM after which it back to normal. It's happening more when the AC is on but even with AC off jerks are present. I'm rulling out adulterated fuel as I'm using Petrol Pump near Regal Cinema and haven't faced any issue till now on the quality of fuel. FE has also not dropped as I'm getting 12-13 kmpl in city driving. I feel more pintch of jerks in hot afternoon drive and also once engine reaches optimum temperature. Pickup also seems to be fine as once 2000 RPM is crossed car goes smothly till 5000 rpm beyound which I've not checked. Sometimes if I try to rev hard and RPM is between 1300 to 2000 zone then there is some sound of noise which can be related as vaccum release or a misfire which I'm unable to be sure of.Even at idealing in neutral with AC off there seems to be slight fluctuations in RPM
Car is running with K&N CAI, Irridium plugs and wires with fully synthetic oil and none of these mods are new.
Please help as this is creating trouble with heat soaring in Mumbai and afternoon drive is becoming a problem.

Was your car's distributor/Delco (all the spark plug wires are connected here) adjusted by any chance?
This does effect the issue which you are talking about.
Please check the Ignition timing , if not proper , get it adjusted.
Also other issues as mentioned by Pranav , can be becuase of clogged throttle body, Airfilter, Sparkplugs, bad fuel pump etc.

The problem is occuring once the engine reaches optimum temperature. In the morning drive at around 7 am the car behave perfectly with no signs of jerks. At this time my drive is for around 25 kms which lasts for around 35 mins no sign of any jerks. During afternoons once reaches it's optimum temperature i.e when the temperature needle is at approx 35 to 40% mark this problem starts and stays on. Using the AC at this point of time only adds to the jerks so AC compressor shouldn't be problem as jerks are there even if AC is switched off.

The coolant level is proper, radiator fans are working properly. Temperature gauge is also in the proper range so no overheating issues either.

Gurus need your help as it's causing lots of discomfort with Mumbai Temperature reaching 40+ mark. please:

What heatrange plugs are you using? Throw the iridiums away, use regular spark plugs.

I can't be very sure but it could be an issue with the ignition coil and/or the spark plugs. I had a similar issue in my Swift that was resolved by replacing the ignition coil and installing new spark plugs (regular, not iridium ones).

The irridium plugs have been there for quite some and till now not faced any problem then how come suddenly this problem is keeping me puzzled.

If ignition coil would have been an issue then it should act funny in all RPM range and at all temperatures.

Whats the difference in iridium plugs and regular ones? IS there any noticeable change in the way the car behaves?

Could someone tell me the recommended tire pressure for OHC 1.5 running 195/55/R15 GIIIs ?

Off late my OHC 1.3 dx 2002 RPM has doubled suddenly it was 800 -900 previously and increased to 2000 .Even if i am on 5th Gear and 60 km ph the RPM is 6-7 K that worried me. I noticed it when petrol is nearing empty after a highway fill from Kerala. Took it to Dakshin honda today they said the throttle body is blocked and did a cleaning, As usual honda guys damaged pocket by 569 . Looks it is fine so far .. Is it due to bad fuel ? Between the car was serviced 3 months back and it hardly drove 1000 km after that . Engine CEL was not glowing .

For all you guys facing a power loss problem/ drop in rp, these are the first few aspects you should look into -

1. Ensure that your fuel filter is new (not cleaned) (this is very imp)
2. Your fuel pump is working fine and consistently
3. Injectors are not blocked
4. Fuel tank is clean
5. Plugs and wires are in good condition

If all these check dont solve your problem then you can look at -
1. IAC valve
2. TB sensor
3. O2 sensor
