Got the RPM issue resolved yesterday , set me back 2500,

i just want to confirm if i got it done from the right Autotech -

The name of the owner was Vivek , the garage was located near Mercedes Autohanger - Andheri (E)- i hope i went ot the right guy,

:Frustrati Now i feel real bad, but like you said its ok as the problem is resolved, & now i experience the real Power of a Honda ,

Drive to work- on the western expressway was the best feeling since a long time, now i have to get the right tyre upgrade , currently running on stock.

PS : My PM is not active but, i sent you a BBM request yesterday afternoon, sending it again , last Digits of my pin 107.

MAJOR PROBLEM

Cant find the exact word for this, but lets try,
so when i drive the car in sports mode/fast /above 3.5rpm on city roads
for around 4 mins , the engine suddenly looses power. if i acclerate harder the car does not respond. the rpm does not move up :eek:, so i have to down shift & still the problem persist, until i drive slow.

have given it to my mechanic twice now, but the problems hasn't resloved. ( he said the rpm was jammed/dirty - so he cleaned it) but it hasnt resloved the problem


(it feels like as if the acclerator is jammed - )

Note - when ever this happens, i shift to netural at roling speed to see if the rpm is stuck - but in neutral it works fine, the RPM revs all the way.


i have waited years to buy the OHC - i am disheartned - please:HELP !!

So the Problem hasn't resloved , I have tried various remedies to get it solved , done the following...
Tune up
Cleaned injectors
new air filter
new petrol filter
oil filter
Oil change
Throttle body cleaning
ivac cleaned

Last night on my way back from Malad with my Girl friends family in the car , i missed a really bad accident , it started this way - after the signal on the Highway , i went through all the gears 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th changed all gears after 2k rpm , while on the 5th gear nearing 80kmph, the problem began , the car just would not move any faster , and the speed just kept dropping forcing me to down shift ,

Very cautiously tried to move to the last lane to let the cars in the fast lane move ( i moved to the 3rd last lane near the parking lane ) and was finally getting on to the parking lane on the highway, when a speeding car which was speeding in the wrong lane screeched behind me just missing smashing my car from the back, all this happened at night - my parking lights were on soon as the problem cropped up. ( the incident was very embarassing for me since my to be inlaws were there , i guess you know what i mean)

This loss in power went on for 10 minutes.

Whenever this happens i smell something burning, dont know what exactly this is.


I need to solve this urgenlty , cant sleep to well at night thinking about it. please:saved up a lot to buy this car.

Hey ryan_wheelz, I believe its the ignition coil playing tricks. Please try changing the ignition coil and HT cables/Spark plugs.

Hey Ryan check the fuel pump. It might be at the end of it's life.

Spark plugs replaced in Dec 10' & again in April 11'
i will replace the coil & fuel pump
but i think i shoud get a scan done first , please suggest

One more thing once this problem crops up , i can smell something burning in the Engine.

Hi Ryan,

As discussed and suggested by the other members it could be your ignintion coil or the fuel pump (lower chance).

IMO it could be your IAC/Idle valve also.

Lets take it up step by step.

IS it happening at all times even when the engine is cold?

Dosn't happen when engine is cold.

I cant undersatnd what intimidates it to happen, Kaushik test drove it well the other day on Carter, it did not happen even once.

I was a little Reluctant, to get a scan done as i was told it will cost Rs 1200 - 1500,(already spent a lot this month on the car ) but today got a guy who will do it for Rs 200, so going in for it First.

Anyone knows the cost of the ignition Coil ? Fuel pump got a quote for 4k .

Does anyone know a good place near goregaon where i can get my VTEC serviced. There are a lot of internal vibrations from the plastic parts which i want to fix as well plus the glovebox hinge also is gone on one side and doesnt close properly.

Can i fit a 100W bulb in the vtec, will it affect the glass as the current headlight bulbs do not offer much vision during the night drives. Is the bulb a H3? Any suggestions on which bulb to go for.

Get the philips rally 100/130 bulbs with hella wiring kit. They are good enough and will not melt any plastic. Doing the rest of the work is painful, try and get audio installers to do some damping.

Problem - Central Locking seems to fail quite often. Now while opening..only driver side door opens but all doors shut together. I use the Nippon central locking device.
Where do I start with the trouble shooting?
When ever this happened earlier, it sorted out itself by the end of the day..
now its been more than a week and i'm going crazy.

Start be checking all your CL connectors. Clean them with wd40. While you are doing that you can also check what parts are not working (which is unlikely as the problem is intermittent)
